Political Stupid Season Well Underway

Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York: "Judge Alito also holds a harshly limited view of what the government can or should do to help ordinary Americans. Judge Alito said it all in 1986, when he was a young lawyer in the Reagan administration. He wrote that in his estimation, it is not the role of the federal government to protect the health, safety and welfare of the American people. Well, I guess that explains the inept, slow and dangerous response to Hurricane Katrina."

Sad as may be, there is a certain group of supposed American citizens who do not believe in the ability of the individual, possessed of a strong faith in God and in the gifts He give us all, to fend for themselves. They are so afraid of accepting personal responsibility for their own future that they instead turn to a secular government as their object of worship and faith.

Sounds to us like that the Rose Law firm's most famous swindler, Hillary Clinton, is the candidate for these pathetic losers.

In the Nanny State We Trust

The list of notable failures of the government, especially at the federal level, easily fill the pages of several large volumes. LBJ's "Great Society" program which after several decades has done nothing more than cost taxpayers billions of dollars wasted on liberal societal engineering projects. Over 11 million ILLEGAL CRIMINAL aliens already in country with thousands more coming each day. Public education systems spewing out students who are not equipped with even the most basic of
skills necessary to compete in the real world. A tax system that treats citizens as guilty until proven innocent. Campaign reforms that have left the waters more muddied than ever. And so it goes.

In fairness, there have been some successes, mostly in the area of military actions. But overall, government gets very poor marks in almost every non-military area. Yet, many American liberals, (aka leftists, progressives, Democrats), continue to turn to the monolithic government to save their sorry butts.

And so many of us stand around with our hands in our pockets and let these misguided idiots lead us all down the path of destruction. Hell, many of us can't even be bothered to vote. You have to wonder if we aren't getting just what we deserve?

How is it that ...

Liberals, (aka leftists, progressives, Democrats), are eager to condemn Alito for positions he took in his younder days but are so darned quick to forgive their own. For instance, West Virginia's Sen. Byrd was a member of the anti-black, anti-jewish Klu Klux Klan but now is revered by the liberals as a great statesman. Sen. Kennedy's was personally and directly responsible for the wrongful death, some might call it murder, of Mary Jo Kopechne and has been a public humiliation to the Senate, Massachusetts and the United States. Yet liberals have accorded the reverence that once was reserved for truly great people.

Mom used to tell me that we are known by the company we keep. If this is true what does it say about liberals when you look at who they call their leaders?

Teachers greater risk to children then priests

What do Adrianne Hockett, Angela Comer, Cathy Heminghaus, Elizabeth Miklosovic, Joan Marie Sladky, Margaret De Barraicua, Stephanie Burleson and Pamela Smart have in common? For starters, all are either teachers or school employees. More importantly, each has been charged, and in some cases already found guilty of having illegal sexual relations with underage students. Even more important, these seven representatives of the education profession are just the tip of the iceberg. Pamela Smart is further charged with trying to convince her underage lover to kill her
husband. The Nicole Kidman movie "To Die For" is based upon Smart's case.

And for the record, none of them are Catholic priests!

To help demonstrate just how widespread this problem is, here is a small
sampling of recent news reports collected from sources across the U.S.

Liberals, (aka leftists, progressives, Democrats), and their lackies in Big Media never miss an opportunity to attack the Catholic Church for the actions of a relatively small percentage of priests. Let there be the slightest hint of an abuse and heaven and earth will be turned over to convict the offender and extract huge cash settlements to ease pain and suffering.

To be perfectly clear, we admit that there are priests that go bad and do abuse youths. At the same time, we are skeptical of any claims that come from alleged memories dredged up by the voodoo of shrinks.

We also freely admit that most teachers have never, and would never, do anything that would put a child in their care at risk. But we can not help but wonder out loud why Big Media, liberals and spokestoads for various freeloading activists groups are so thoroughly and resoundingly silent on the issue?

Big Media and various teacher's union have spent significant cash and energy in an effort to convince us that teachers are close to sainthood and worthy without question of any and all salary increases. Could it be that they do not want the carefully crafted image to be tarnished thus putting their access to billions of dollars of tax money at risk?

Could it be that the Left (aka liberals, progressives, Democrats) are , for whatever reasons, anti-Christian and use this issue to grind their pitiful little axes with attacks on the Catholic Church?

We urge all readers to ignore the brainwashing, examine the evidence for themselves and make an informed decision. For our money, though, we can't help but wonder if the greater risk to our children comes not from the local priest but from the employees of the local school district?

Big Media Biased
A source of amusement around here is noticing how many things Big Media chooses to not report. For instance, there is a major scandal brewing in Canada involving the sale of tainted blood by officials of the state of Arkansas [READ MORE]. At the heart of the scandal is a former governor of Arkansas, our own former President, William "Bubba" Clinton. That Clinton is implicated in yet another scandal is hardly a surprise nor is the lack of coverage in Big Media particularly unexpected. What is surprising is that with examples such as this how anyone can doubt that Big Media is not biased in favor of leftists (aka liberals, progressives, Democrats).

Who Should Be Allowed To Vote?
Should only contributing members of a society be allowed to vote or should voting be be open to anyone regardless of contribution, education or interest? It seems only proper that those who decide the fate of the country as well as how tax dollars should be spent be allowed to vote. What is not right is that those who make no contribution and receive those tax dollars are also allowed to vote.

Folks, if you ain't helping to pull the wagon, you should not have a say in where that wagon is going.

Community Leaders and Activists
Have you ever wondered how someone becomes known as a community leader or a black (or hispanic or whatever leader) or even a community activist? Who exactly elected Jesse Jackson as a spokesman for Americans of African heritage? When was Jill Ireland elected as a spokeswoman for all American women? How did a Senator with a history of problems with booze and a murder on his record, a crime that his wealthy family paid his way out of, become a spokestoad for liberals?

The answer to this question is simple: the media selected these folks as "leaders" for the simple reason that they give a good interview filled with sound bites that fit Big Media's agenda and might help sell advertising. They, Big Media, can count of the always available Jesse Jackson to say something stupid and inflammatory, some muttering that will help Big Media ratings and allow them to sell more advertising at
higher rates.

As with anything in the secular world, follow the money and you will find the truth.

Dr. No or Elmer Fudd
Depending upon which leftist (aka liberal, progressive), is talking, President Bush is either the brightest man in the world capable of planning and coordinating a massive attempt to take over the US government or he is a complete idiot who finds chewing gum and walking at the same time a major challenge.

Come on Left - get your act together. Which is it? You can not have it both ways. Or is it that you are so easily manipulated that you can be controlled just like a puppet on a string?

OBL's Truce Offer
How anyone can take an offer of a truce from a man sworn to destroy our way of life is a mystery to me. If anything, OBL's truce offer is a strong indication that he is in trouble and losing the war. Rather than spending any time considering this offer, we should step up our efforts to take out his organization.

Instead, BigMedia will virtually cannonize the terrorist leader and the American left will once again fall into lockstep and follow the lead of the idiots in the press rooms.

The New NHL?
Following the Lost Season, the NHL has come back complete with new rules designed to improve the game, boost scoring and reward skill players.

While scoring is up, so are the number of penalties and subsequent power plays. More power plays, more goals.

In our opinion, the new rules are okay but the quality of officiating is suffering. Some games feature so many penalty calls, many of which are so minor or even mystery calls, that the game is even more boring than before the rule changes. The proof of this is in the attendance figures in cities like Phoenix, Atlanta, Buffalo, Nashville and many others.

Political Corruption - What else is new?
Do you actually think that only republicans have accept illegal funds? Do you believe that Congress became corrupted when Bush was first elected? If so, you should immediately be sent to live permanently in France.

This stuff goes on regardless of political party. Simply pay attention to who is actually taking flights on private jets (ALL OF THEM), or accepting funds from scum lobbyists including George Soros. Have we already forgotten the fund raising scandals or the pardons that were sold in exchange for hefty donations to Hillary's senate campaign, during the Clinton administration?

What can be done about the problem? A good start is strict term limits. We limit the President to two terms and yet there is no limit on how long Congress members can serve. The longer they serve, the more involved in the corruption they become. Send them home after two terms, along with their staffs and advisors. Ban them from taking jobs as professional lobbyists for at least two years after leaving office. While we are at it, strip away the fringe benefits they receive both during their term and when they leave office. Quit treating these people like some sort of royalty.

Faith
Here's a question for you: why are so many of us willing to put our faith in the words of lying politicians, government lackies or BigMedia but at the same time run away and hide when it comes to expressing faith in God?
