So Much For Civil Political Discourse

On January 12, 2011, President Obama spoke to a crowd of 14,000 in Tucson, AZ and millions more on TV and cable. The occasion was a memorial service for the victims of the shooting that left Rep. Gabrielle Giffords gravely wounded and six others dead. During that speech, President Obama addressed the state of political discourse.

The loss of these wonderful people should make every one of us strive to be better in our private lives – to be better friends and neighbors, co-workers and parents,” Mr. Obama said. “And if, as has been discussed in recent days, their deaths help usher in more civility in our public discourse, let’s remember that it is not because a simple lack of civility caused this tragedy, but rather because only a more civil and honest public discourse can help us face up to our challenges as a nation, in a way that would make them proud.

In the days and weeks following the shooting, the President was joined by chorus of voices from the left decrying the lack of civil discourse in America. These voices were quick to lay the blame at the feet of Republicans, the Tea Party movement, FOX news and conservative talk radio.

Jump forward to September 5, 2011. The scene: a political rally for President Obama. The crowd is mostly union. The speaker is Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa.

We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They've got a war, they got a war with us and there's only going to be one winner. It's going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We're going to win that war," Jimmy Hoffa Jr. said to a heavily union crowd.

"President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong," Hoffa added.

Mr. President, please help us all understand how you can criticize one side of the political divide but not the other? Explain how overheated rhetoric from conservatives is wrong but acceptable when it comes from the progressives?

You were elected to be the President of all Americans and not just your voter base. It is long past time for you to start being a real leader and not just another vote hungry politician.

Obama giving Arizona back to Mexico

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano recently told a Senate committee that the southern border or Arizona was as safe as ever.

“I know that border I think as well as anyone, and I will tell you it is as secure now as it has ever been,” Napolitano said. [Read more]

If this is true then why are American citizens being told to stay out of three southern Arizona counties because it is too dangerous due to armed smugglers from Mexico operating freely in those areas? [Read more]

Imagine that - part of the United States of America is too dangerous for Americans because of activities of illegal gangs and aliens. I never thought that I would live to see this day.

The President of the United States is the person ultimately responsible for the safety of this country and it's people. This is Job 1 for any President. This President, however, is busy taking over the healthcare industry, attempting to take over the financial and energy industries, doling out handouts at a record pace, trying to secure benefits to bail out union pension funds mismanaged by unions, bailing our print media, turning the BP oil spill into a push for cap and tax and in general spending money like a drunken sailor on shore leave. He apparently does not have time to take care of his first and foremost responsibility: the protection of this country and her citizens.

(In fairness, Obama has said he will send 1000 troops to help but they will not be on the front lines. In essence they will be uniformed administrative aides.)

As with healthcare and other issues, polls show that the clear majority of American citizens believe this is a serious issue and that the borders must be properly defended. As with healthcare and other issues, the Obama administration and Congress continue to ignore the will of the people.

It is a sad day when citizens of a foreign nation can invade and occupy a portion of our country and our leaders in the White House and Congress do nothing to defend our territory. Rather than pander to the tinhorn leader of Mexico, our President should remember what his job one is and actually do something to stop this invasion. Of course this assumes that Obama can actually stop playing politics and posing for photo opportunities long enough to be a real President.

Arizona steps up to do the Federal Government's Job

All of the consternation arising from the recently passed Arizona immigration law would be completely unnecessary if the Federal government were doing it's job. It is the job of the fed to protect the border and to keep illegal aliens from crossing our borders.

By President Obama's own admission, over 500,000 illegals sneak into Arizona each year alone. 500,000 people that are draining the taxpayers of Arizona who pay the cost of the uninvited intruders. Rather than taking strong steps to protect the border and cut off the flow of illegal aliens, all we here from the Fed is that we should set up an amnesty program (but we don't hear how much that will cost the taxpayers).

The governor of Arizona as well as Senator McCain have requested the 3,000 troops be deployed along the border. So far, the Obama regime has been silent.

Isn't it high time that the politicians quit pandering to the illegals and do what they took an oath to do?

The pandering by the polpigs goes beyond amnesty and failing to protect the border. These pompous, self righteous gas bags have the audacity to condemn the requirement that Arizona police check the immigration status of suspects. We hear about the plight of some poor family that goes out for ice cream, are stopped and don't have their papers. This is pure garbage.

The federal government already requires all foreign nationals legally in this country to have their documentation,, (via or green card), with them at all times. Arizona is not adding a burden to these folks.

Rather than posing for the camera and trying to buy hispanic votes, the Obama regime and Congress must get serious and do the job they swore they would do - protect our borders and stop the flow of illegal aliens. Then and only then can we have a constructive debate on immigration reform.

Doing 'Hard Things'

Let's say that you have gone out and bought a new truck and in the process spending more than you could really afford. You knew you were spending too much but just had to have the newest truck with the newest goodies. Now you are faced with the problem of how to pay for that new truck that you just had to have. Do you:

1. cut enough spending from your budget so that you can make the payments

or

2. put a shotgun to your neighbors head and demand that he make your payment for you?

If your answer was number 1, cut spending, then welcome to the crowd. You are like the rest of Americans faced with similar decisions each and every day.

However, if your answer was number 2 then you have now qualified to be a politician (polpig).

After running up massive debts and record deficits, our so-called leaders in the White House and Congress are struggling to find ways to pay off their reckless spending and vote-buying. [Here comes a national VAT tax].

These polpigs have recklessly spent our nation into a massive financial hole and now they can't figure out how to pay off their spending. After coming up with a few minor, mostly symbolic, budget cuts, they are again putting a gun to our heads and demanding that we pay off their debts. They talk about making tough decisions and having to do 'hard things' to cover their spending but it sure as heck is not the polpigs who will be doing these 'hard things'. It is the American taxpayers and American businesses who will be expected to do the 'hard things' even as Congress continues to spend, spend, spend. This insanity has got to stop!

Maybe we are just getting what we deserve. For years we have stood by and watched as Congress and the polpig elites created new entitlements, created new federal agencies, pursued expensive programs and threw money away on themselves and their friends. Just as long as we had a few bucks in our pocket, we kept our mouths shut. As long as it was only the rich being taxed, we looked the other way. As long as we got our share of the tax pie we turned our backs on the problem. And now we have a massive monster that must be dealt with.

The 'hard thing' we the taxpayers have to deal with is not paying more taxes; rather it is putting aside our own self interests and remembering that the strength of this country comes not from the polpig elite class but from the willingness of free citizens to put aside our self interest to work for and defend our shared American Dream.

A darned good start would be to kick out the current rulers in DC and replace them with truly principled people.

Who's Obstructing Obama?

Once again the President and his minions in the Democrat party are blaming Republicans for obstructing "The Chosen One's" policies and initiatives. Once again they are assuming that we the people are stupid and will not see the truth for ourselves.

Fact: Democrats have held the majority of both the House and Senate since 2006. They have had an absolute, unbeatable majority since 2008. This means that since 2008 they have had the power to pass any bill they want and the Republicans can not do a damned thing to stop them.

Fact: The American people have not supported the most significant portions of the liberal agenda, including cap and trade, government takeover of healthcare, immigration reform. There are literally hundreds of polls available on the internet that show the lack of support. Five minutes with Google will find all the proof of this needed. Add to this the three surprising elections lost in traditional the Democrat strongholds of Virgina, New Jersey and Massachusetts and you can easily see the opposition to the liberal agenda.

So what is the truth? Despite all of claims of Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the braindead members of the mainstream media, the obstruction is not coming from the Republicans in Congress.

Reject the lies folks. Think for yourself. God gave you a brain, use it. Don't let polpigs think for you. Don't let union leaders think for you. Don't let the mainstream media think for you.

State of the Union Address: Truth is in short supply

What a glorious performance. President Barack Hussein Obama standing before the assembled houses of Congress, reading nearly flawlessly from his multiple teleprompters, jutting out his chin and looking skyward and sounding like a man of the people. Just like Campaign 2008 - hope and change you can believe in! Yippee. The Magic is back! Or is it?

It is interesting to see that within hours, Obama's first State of the Union speech is being torn apart not only by the usual folks but also within the mainstream media (MSM) as witnessed by this Associated Press article, FACT CHECK: Obama and a toothless commission. For instance,

OBAMA: He called for action by the White House and Congress "to do our work openly, and to give our people the government they deserve."

THE FACTS: Obama skipped past a broken promise from his campaign - to have the negotiations for health care legislation broadcast on C-SPAN "so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies." Instead, Democrats in the White House and Congress have conducted the usual private negotiations, making multibillion-dollar deals with hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and other stakeholders behind closed doors. Nor has Obama lived up consistently to his pledge to ensure that legislation is posted online for five days before it's acted upon.

During the second longest SOTU speech in history, Obama made the usual promises, attacked the popular targets and posed for the cameras at every opportunity. It was obvious that he was trying to position himself as a spokesman for the middle class and the leader of the middle-of-the-road crew. This worked for him in 2008 but now the American people have a full year of watching Obama at work and surely will not fall for this act.

Sometimes we perpetuate a lie by refusing to speak the truth. By not calling out the Congress, controlled by Democrats since 2006, for their more than ample share of blame for any woes in this country, Obama continued the lie. The Democrats took control of both the House and Senate in 2006. According to the federal government, the recession started in 2007. Figure it out folks.

The bottomline is simple: this was just another speech by another tin horn dictator convinced of his divine right to rule.

State of The Union Preview

On January 27, 2010, President Obama and his trusty teleprompters will deliver his first State of the Union address. On this eve, the Chosen One will stand before Congress and seek to "reconnect with the middle class". Since many Americans will actually be working or busy with family matters or just plain not willing to waste the time listening to political rhetoric, we are giving you a brief preview off the speech.

During the speech, Obama will either outright blame Bush for all of his failures or refer to the "mess he inherited" at least a dozen times. Of course, he will not mention that his party, the Democrats, have been in charge of Congress since 2006 and that Congress is responsible for passing massive spending measures.

He will stop several time, jut his chin out and look skyward several times, holding the pose long enough for the fawning press to snap hundreds of pictures.

Since the Democrats thrive on class warfare, Obama will attack banks and bankers. Of course he will not mention that Canadian banks did not need to be bailed out primarily because they had not been forced by their government to issue subprime mortgages.

He will use the word "look", as in "look, this mess I inherited was bigger than I thought" a minimum of a dozen times.

Count on several pitches for his much despised healthcare taken over plan. Since he promised the Hispanic Caucus action on illegal alien amnesty, figure on hearing a bit about this, as well.

We will also hear about his plan to freeze discretionary spending, which along with freezing the already inflated salaries of his advisers, amounts to almost nothing but sounds ever so tough and serious.

In the end it will be the usual political speech filled with half truths, lies and hollow promises intended only to boost his ratings. And underlying it all, will be a contempt for the intelligence of the American voter.

We Are ALL In This Mess Together

This is probably going to come as a surprise to many Americans who seem to feel that everything can be defined in terms of party politics: there are some issues that are far too important to be treated to the blame game and name calling that passes as political debate. For instance :

Security

Blaming Bush as the left is fond of doing or bashing Obama as the right
loves doing has nothing to do with the security of this country and her
citizens. Security must not be a political issue and should be handled
by professionals who actually know what they are doing and not a bunch
of lifetime politicians and bureaucrats who's decisions are driven not
by reality but by the desire to protect their own power.

Openness and transparency in government

We were promised openness and transparency by the current President and the political party presently with control of both houses of Congress. Openness and transparency is something that benefits all of us, left or right. We should demand this of any President or Congress whether we voted for them or not. Many state and local governments have strict open meeting laws on the books.

Regardless of political leaning, we all benefit from liberty and freedom; if we all don't defend it, we all will lose it.

The choices are simple: wake up and work together on the issues that demand a unified voice or continue to play the childish blame game and collectively lose everything that makes this country great.

The Pride of Montana and the Democrat Party

Political Prostitution On Parade

In addition to Louisiana Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu, who sold her vote in favor of Obamacare for somewhere between $100 and $300 million dollars in added benefits that will help her re-election efforts, we can now add the name of Senator Ben Nelson, Democrat Nebraska to the list of politicians who have sold their vote.

And what is the price that induces liberal Democrat Senator Nelson to abandon his pro-life supporters and bend over for his masters in the Democrat party?

Under the new abortion provisions, states can opt out of allowing plans to cover abortion in the new insurance exchanges the bill would set up, to serve individuals who lack coverage through their jobs. Plus, enrollees in plans that do cover abortion procedures would pay for the coverage with separate checks -- one for abortion, one for the rest of any health-care services.

Nelson secured full federal funding for his state to expand Medicaid coverage to all individuals below 133 percent of the federal poverty level. Other states must pay a small portion of the additional cost. He won concessions for qualifying nonprofit insurers and for Medigap providers from a new insurance tax, and was able to roll back cuts to health savings accounts.

Federally funded abortions and extra goodies for the residents of his state paid for by the rest of us. Said another way, non-Nebraska taxpayers will be funding additional benefits for Nebraska that Nelson will tout and use to buy votes.

Virtually every reputable poll shows that American citizens do not favor this Obamacare plan and yet the liberal Democrat party and it's mushminded members continue to try push it down our throats. Thanks to political prostitution this onerous 2000 plus page bill is closer than ever to becoming the law of the land.

Is it any wonder that faith in elected officials is lower than ever?

Spend Your Way Out Of Debt - the Obama Way

Anyone who has ever sat around the kitchen table trying to balance their home budget or has had to struggle with a business budget knows that you can't spend your way out of economic problems and debt. We refer to this as "common sense".

In the high-powered world of liberal politics, however, this "common sense" is ignored. Once again Obama is calling upon Congress and the American people to spend more money to try and fix our current economic woes [read more].

Let's see if this makes sense: our national debt is skyrocketing already, government run health care and cap and trade will only add to that, private sector businesses are laying off thousands of people and Obama wants to spend more money. And where does the money come from that Obama wants to spend? As always, from the same taxpayers who are already struggling financially.

Government jobs and jobs created with temporary government spending do not boost the economy. Those jobs have to be paid for somehow and that means the taxpayer gets hit again.

If Obama and his liberal minions were serious they would lower taxes and let the private sector do what it is best equipped to do and that is create jobs and economic growth. They would do all they could to get government out of the way and the free market system operate without government imposed constraints.

All of these bills and debt being run up by Congress and Obama are going to come due someday. Somebody is going to have to pay and that somebody is you, me, our kids and our grandkids.

Sen Reid Is Losing What Little Sanity He Had

Sen, Harry Reid, Liberal/Dem, Nev, today likened those who oppose the government takeover of the health care industry to those who supported slavery. He also likened the opponents, Republicans, to those who tried to filibuster and stop civil rights legislation. This second claim clearly shows that Sen. Reid has little if any grasp of history or the truth since it was DEMOCRAT Senator Strom Thurmond who led the failed filibuster (Sen Thurmond changed parties some time later). Were this topic not so darned important, the Senator from Nevada could be laughed off as just another bad jerk. This type of rhetoric is hardly worthy of a debate as important to the future of this country. I find it hard to believe that this joke in a three piece suit truly represents the people of Nevada.

Arrogance Unbounded

Washington D.C. is absolutely overflowing with arrogant, self important polpigs, bureaucrats, lobbyists and "journalists". An oath of office or ethics of professional codes of conduct mean nothing to the elite class that would rule the United States of America as their personal fiefdom.

Standing tall amongst the ranks of the arrogant polpigs is Senator Barbara Boxer, Dem-Socialist, CA. As if to confirm her position within the D.C. cesspool, Senator Boxer has weighed in on what has come to known as "climategate".

Briefly for those who have been out of touch for a few weeks, "climategate" refers to aftermath of the release of a large collection of emails and other documents and programs that clearly show that the claims of man-made global warming is an outright fraud. The documents were obtained by persons concerned with getting the truth into the hands of the people. Mainstream media and the entrenched elites label these people as "hackers", the rest of us consider them to be whistleblowers.

[As a sidenote, the data that has been released was requested through the British version of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The requests were either denied or ignored.]

Rather than investigate the truth of these documents, data and programs, Senator Boxer, an unflappable champion of man-made global warming, believes that the whistleblowers should be investigated not as concerned and frustrated citizens but as criminals.

"You call it 'Climategate'; I call it 'E-mail-theft-gate,'" she said during a committee meeting.

One may safely assume that if this were a case of information being leaked regarding fraud or corruption within a conservative group, Sen. Boxer would be leading the campaign to honor the whistleblower.

The Senator goes on to say:

"We may well have a hearing on this, we may not. We may have a briefing for senators, we may not," Boxer said. "Part of our looking at this will be looking at a criminal activity which could have well been coordinated.

"This is a crime," Boxer said. [read more]

No Senator, the release of data that by all rights should have already been in the public domain is not a crime. The only true crime here is that someone as arrogant and self absorbed as yourself sits in a seat of power. Shame on you and shame on the people of California for electing you in the first place.

UK Defense Minister Criticizes Obama's Dithering

While American and allied NATO troops have continued to die in Afghanistan, President Obama has continued to dither over what his new strategy will be. Despite a panic like rush to pass massive legislation (bailouts, healthcare, cap and trade, etc.), Obama has dragged out making a decision for months. All the while American and other NATO troops are in harms way and are dying.

Now our friends in the United Kingdom are speaking up and letting the world know what they think of Obama's leadership and laying the blame for slipping public support for the war in Afganistan squarely at the feet of Obama and his minions.

Senior British Government sources have become increasingly frustrated with Mr Obama’s “dithering” on Afghanistan, the Daily Telegraph disclosed earlier this month, with several former British defence chiefs echoing the concerns.

But Mr Ainsworth is the first Government minister to express in public what amounts to personal criticism of the US president’s leadership over the conflict which has so far cost 235 British lives. [read more]

Of course, most Americans know that it is Bush's fault that Obama can not make a decision and would rather leave our troops hanging - mainstream media has told us this often enough.

While American troops are dying their Commander-in-Chief finds enough time to travel around the world but not to make a decision that impacts their lives.

President Obama, quit dithering, making excuses and blaming others and stand up and do the right thing. Either commit to providing the military the resources they need to win the war or bring our troops home now.

Forgotten Workers

What is the real unemployment rate? According to the U-6 number, at least 17.5% of workers are either unemployed or underemployed. This is the highest level since the government first starting tracking this statistic in 1994 [read more ...]. The U-6 number is in large part the reason that unemployment benefits are being extended.

A significant portion of the workforce never seems to show up in any of the governments unemployment numbers. This group includes small business owners who's business has failed, independent contractors and self-employed workers. The members of this group share one thing: they do not get unemployment benefits. For that matter, as far as I have been able to determine, there is no government assistance plan available.

It is time that the government start thinking about the welfare of all workers and not just those that receive unemployment benefits. Massive government spending programs drain the available pools of money that could otherwise be used for investment and private business expansion.

A good start would be to cut taxes across the board, encourage rather than penalize those willing to invest in the private sector and radically slash government spending on bailouts and handouts.

A snowball has a better chance in hell then we have of seeing any of these measures enacted. Instead, the accumulation of record levels of government debt and gigantic spending programs will continue to drain away the funds that otherwise could have been used for job creation.

$100 Million Healthcare Bribe

What is the current price for the support of one U.S. Senator for the massive, Senate healthcare bill? It appears that the price is currently pegged at $100 Million dollars.

On page 432 of the Reid bill, there is a section that covers two pages defining which states would qualify for federal Medicaid subsidies in the event of a major natural disaster within the past 7 fiscal years. Boiled down to plain english, this section applies to one state: Louisiana, the home of moderate Democrat Mary Landrieu. Senator Landrieu is considered a key vote if the takeover of healthcare by the federal government is to be passed.

In very plain language, Senator Harry Reid has inserted into his healthcare takeover bill a $100 million bribe if Senator Landrieu votes for passage.

$100 million for a single vote.

In all fairness, what is not known is whether or not Senator Landrieu will accept the bribe. Only time will tell if she has the courage to stand up and vote against a very bad bill or if she decides that supporting her political party is more important than support her country.

Hopefully there are enough voters who's concerns are greater than receiving more federal money who will contact Senator Landrieu and demand that she do the right thing. After all, $100 million is a mighty small price for a lifetime of government controlled healthcare.

SEC. 2006. SPECIAL ADJUSTMENT TO FMAP DETERMINATION FOR CERTAIN STATES RECOVERING FROM A MAJOR DISASTER.

Section 1905 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1396d), as amended by sections 2001(a)(3) and
2001(b)(2), is amended— (1) in subsection (b), in the first sentence, by striking ‘‘subsection (y)’’ and inserting ‘‘subsections (y) and (aa)’’; and (2) by adding at the end the following new subsection:

‘‘(aa)(1) Notwithstanding subsection (b), beginning January 1, 2011, the Federal medical assistance percentage for a fiscal year for a disaster-recovery FMAP adjustment State shall be equal to the following:
‘(A) In the case of the first fiscal year (or part of a fiscal year) for which this subsection applies to the State, the Federal medical assistance percentage determined for the fiscal year without regard to this subsection and subsection (y), increased by 50 percent of the number of percentage points by which the Federal medical assistance percentage determined for the State for the fiscal year without regard to this subsection and subsection (y), is less than the Federal medical assistance percentage determined for the State for the preceding fiscal year after the application of only subsection (a) of section 5001 of Public Law 111–5 (if applicable to the preceding fiscal year) and without regard to this subsection, subsection (y), and subsections (b) and (c) of section 5001 of Public Law 111–5.

‘‘(B) In the case of the second or any succeeding fiscal year for which this subsection applies to the State, the Federal medical assistance percentage determined for the preceding fiscal year under this subsection for the State, increased by 25 percent of the number of percentage points by which the Federal medical assistance percentage determined for the State for the fiscal year without regard to this subsection and subsection (y), is less than the Federal medical assistance percentage determined for the State for the preceding fiscal year under this subsection.

‘‘(2) In this subsection, the term ‘disaster-recovery FMAP adjustment State’ means a State that is one of
the 50 States or the District of Columbia, for which, at any time during the preceding 7 fiscal years, the President has declared a major disaster under section 401 of the Robert T. ‘‘(3) The Federal medical assistance percentage determined for a disaster-recovery FMAP adjustment State under paragraph (1) shall apply for purposes of this title (other than with respect to disproportionate share hospital payments described in section 1923 and payments under this title that are based on the enhanced FMAP described in 2105(b)) and shall not apply with respect to payments under title IV (other than under part E of title IV) or payments under title XXI.’’.

He's been playing golf. In fact, in less than 10 months he has already played more golf than President Bush did during the (READ).

Is Rep. Joe Wilson Correct?

During President Barack Hussein Obama's speech to Congress September 9, 2009, he made the claim that the healthcare bill would not extend coverage to illegal aliens. Reacting emotionally, Representative Joe Wilson, R-SC, called the President a liar. Maybe the moment wasn't proper but Rep. Wilson only said what is on the minds of millions of citizens.

While Democrats, libs and other polpigs decry Rep. Wilson's actions, they are not addressing whether or not Rep. Wilson was correct in his accusation. According to CNN, there is a some degree of truth to the claim that illegal aliens will be covered.

While the report found that federal subsidies to obtain health coverage would be restricted to U.S. citizens and legal residents, it also noted that the bill does not specify a citizenship verification system, something that critics say creates a loophole for undocumented immigrants to receive subsidies anyway. Given that both the Senate and House versions of a healthcare bill run to more than a 1000 pages each, and that it is written in the particular style used by lawyers and politicians to obfuscate, it is doubtful that most of the members of Congress or the mainstream media have even read either bill in their entirety. Perhaps that is why there does not seem to be a rush to defend Obama's comments. Perhaps the lack of defense is because nowhere in either bill is there a specific clause banning illegal aliens from receiving taxpayer funded healthcare and in D.C., what isn't said is just as important as what is said.

Instead of defending Obama, the talking heads and polpigs chose to attack Rep. Wilson for calling Obama a "liar". These are the same voices that had nothing to say when Speaker Pelosi called American citizens engaged in lawful and peaceful protest, "nazis".

Could Joe Wilson have chosen a better time and place for his comment? Sure, but for now there is no irrefutable proof that he was wrong.

Mexican Trucks On US Highways

Not only are serious concerns with the safety of these vehicles and the drivers, the fact is that by allowing these foreign rigs to haul loads across the US, the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers of America will be severely undercut. In other words, yet another small American business person will get hosed by our very own government.

Sabotaging the democratic process

Now that Congress is heading off to their month long, taxpayer funded vacation without meeting the President's deadline for passing health care, it is time for the Democrat party and their minions in the mainstream media to go on the attack. The target of their attacks are those American citizens who have shown the courage to show up at town hall meetings and express their anger. The most recent accuser is none other than the Senate majority leader, Harry "Dingy" Reid, Nevada DEM. Senator Reid and his cronies have consistently refused to listen to the concerns of an ever growing number of citizens. Phone calls, letter, emails and faxes have not shaken Reid's loyalty to President Obama and the Democrat Party. Since it is obvious that we don't count, at least not to Senator Reid and other members of Congress, we show up at their staged Town Hall meetings and use that forum to express our anger and frustration. This is the same process that has been in place since the days of this great nations founding.

Perhaps if we were members of an ACORN organized welfare protest Senator Reid would think differently of us. Perhaps if we were anti-war protesters disrupting traffic and business the good Senator would consider our protests as worthy expression of our free speech rights.

During the Congressional recess (taxpayer funded one month vacation), we are going to demonized by the left. Pelosi has already claimed that we show up with swastikas. Well folks, do not be deterred. Why are U.S. taxpayers left holding the bail-out bill?

Bail-out mania is running rampant in Washington, D.C. Our elected officials, especially the Democrat/socialist party and liberal RINOs do not seem to be able to stop themselves when it comes to giving away billions upon billions upon billions of OUR tax dollars. Throughout this feeding frenzy in the D.C. pig sty, one question, at a minimum, has gone unanswered: "why are American taxpayers the only ones paying for these bailouts of international companies?"

Each of the Big Three auto industry companies has plants in the U.S. as well as plants in Canada and Mexico. If they fail, it will not be just the American plants that shutdown - thousands of Canadian and Mexican workers will also be left without jobs. All of the financial companies being bailed out have extensive foreign operations.

So why is it that only the U.S. taxpayer is being forced to provide billions upon billions upon billions tax dollars to bail out these companies? Why isn't Canada and Mexico joining in with money for the bail-outs?

Granted, the U.S. Congress has had a large part to play in causing the current problems but that still does not mean that we the people of America should be the only ones coughing up hard earned dollars to rescue these firms.

When are the other nations going to join in to save jobs in their own countries?

The answers is simple: the same day hell freezes over.

Vote No on the Minnesota Legacy Amendment

According to the folks at Vote Yes! Minnesota:

"This November 4th, you have a chance to invest in the Minnesota you love. The Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment will provide funding for clean water, game and wildlife habitat, arts and parks and trails. 40% of our lakes and rivers are polluted. Minnesota is set to lose one million acres of open space in the next 25 years. We can change this. We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to make sure that we invest and protect in our state, passing it on to future generations."

This is a rhetorical pronouncement worthy of even Obama himself; all flourish and no substance.

While the goals sound laudable - do you know anyone not in favor of clean water? - the process is flawed and based upon groundless facts. For instance, 100% of our lakes have not been tested for pollution so how do these folks figure 40% are polluted. Going one step further, how do they define pollution?

The Legacy Amendment allows the taxpayers of Minnesota the privilege of taxing themselves. Heaven knows our DFL legislature does a darned good job of this without our help. We are being asked to raise "the sales and use tax rate beginning July 1, 2009, by three-eighths of one percent on taxable sales until the year 2034?". While this may seem like a small amount for an individual, it does add up to hundreds of millions of dollars.

This chart, prepared by the folks at Vote Yes! Minnesota shows where the money will supposedly be allocated.

What we are really being told is that our elected officials are incapable of doing their jobs, that given half a chance they would vote to reallocate the funds to pay for their pet projects and massive give away programs. There is precedent for this concern: when the Lottery was approved, a set percentage was to be allocated by law to the Department of Natural Resources. However, our elected leaders saw fit to amend the intent of the law and divert the funds to the General Funds pool. (They stole from Peter to pay Paul.)

So because these trough feeding polpigs can not stop themselves from spending every penny they see, we are being asked to tax ourselves and provide the protection of our state Constitution for the money. And in the process, they big spenders are protected from having to vote on the record for give aways to the arts and other controversial issues. What a sweet heart deal for the politicians. Do their job for them and save them from having to vote on the record.

Minnesota is blessed with a wonderful outdoor heritage that deserves our protection but not this way. This is the Idiot Politician Protection.

Stand up and vote No and tell your elected officials to do their jobs and vote on the record. Better still vote No and send the current batch of thieves home.

According to factcheck.org, these ads are totally false (that's the polite way of saying that Obama is lying).

This particular tactic, scaring senior citizens, is pretty much standard practice for liberal candidates. Hopefully America's seniors have grown weary of politcians playing these games and telling these lies.

Is Obama a socialist?
Much ado has been made about claims that Obama's policies are socialist in nature and intent. It has also been claimed that Obama himself at one point belonged to a socialist political party, the New Party. Of course Obama and the msm have denied that he was ever a member of the New Party and defended his policies as the best thing since sliced bread.

Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse, Barack Obama and his pals prove me wrong. This time Obama has introduced a Senate bill that basically forces the citizens of the US to pay taxes to the UN in order to fight global poverty.

Legislation would aim to cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senators Barack Obama (D-IL), Chuck Hagel (R-NE) and Maria Cantwell (D-WA) have introduced the Global Poverty Act (S.2433), which requires the President to develop and implement a comprehensive policy to cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 through aid, trade, debt relief, and coordination with the international community, businesses and NGOs. Representatives Adam Smith (D-WA) and Spencer Bachus (R-AL) sponsored the House version of the bill (H.R. 1302), which passed the House in September. [READ MORE]

On the surface this sounds like yet another liberal plan to liberate more of your hard earned money and redistribute it to the rest of the world. As if American and her citizens are not already one of, if not the leading sources of foreign aide and charity, we are now being told that we will be responsible for solving global poverty.

In the minds of some this may seem like a wonderful objective and worthy project. Helping out fellow man is always a good thing but in this case the devil is in the details.

Have you ever heard of the "Millennium Development Goal"? Given the complete inadequacy of mainstream media when it comes to reporting real news, I would not be surprised if you had not heard of the UN's "Millennium Development Goal". In a nutshell:

The "Millennium Development Goal" refers to a United Nations declaration adopted by the U.N. Millennium Assembly and Summit in 2000 that calls for "the eradication of poverty" by "redistribution (of) wealth and land," cancellation of "the debts of developing countries" and "a fair distribution of the earth's resources." The IBD reports that "The Millennium project is monitored by Jeffrey D. Sachs, a Columbia University economist. In 2005 he presented then-U.N. secretary general Kofi Annan with a 3,000-page report based on the research of 265 so-called poverty specialists. "Sachs' document criticized the U.S. for giving only $16.5 billion a year in global anti-poverty aid. He argued that we should spend an additional $30 billion a year in order to reach the 0.7% target that the U.N. set for the U.S. in 2000....Sachs said that the only way to force the U.S. to commit that much money is by a global tax, such as a tax on fossil fuels [oil, coal, natural gas]." The tax would be imposed not only on their production, but on their use, as well. Among other consequences, Americans would be impoverished for the purpose of reducing poverty abroad by 0.7 percent of the U.S.'s gross domestic product(emphasis added).

Maybe I misread the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Articles of Confederation and the Federalist Papers but nowhere in these the founding documents upon which our republic is based did I ever read of any condition under which America or her citizens would be allowed to be dictated to by by an unelected, arguably anti-American organization such as the UN.

Maybe we are as dumb as the liberals, socialists and mainstream media think we are? We keep getting slapped in the face with examples of socialist policy and yet seem prepared to either elect Obama as President, sit out the election to punish republicans, or to throw away votes on some third party candidate with absolutely no chance of winning.

We listen to flowing, almost lyrical rhetoric that says nothing but we don't ask questions.

We seem to be allowing an obviously biased mainstream media to tell us what to think and not think while we just nod and do what we're told like good little puppets.

We listen to talking heads tell us that anyone not supporting Obama is a racist and we don't stand up and defend ourselves.

We have questioned whether John McCain has the 'stones' to defend himself against the attacks and lies of the left. Perhaps the question should be do we the people have the 'stones' to defend our great republic?

Sen. Biden continues:

"I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. "And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you - not financially to help him - we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right."

Let me see if I understand what Sen biden is telling us.

1. If we elect Obama, there WILL BE an international crisis within six months.

2. The handling of the situation will be questioned and Obama's support will dwindle.

Is this the "Change" that Obama is going to bring about? Personally, I am still searching trying to find out just what "change" Obama is going to make and not finding any answers unless you consider taking my even more tax dollars from the middle class and giving that money away as entitlements to those who don't work.

Folks, particularly those who are either planning to vote for Obama or, worse yet, thinking about sitting out the election: please think about what you are doing, who you are supporting and what the longterm cost to America will be. Put aside party politics and think of the country first.

The failed policies of the Bush administration have caused the current financial meltdowns - Presidents propose items BUT Congress writes, debates and passes legislation.

For a people to remain free, a free press is an essential part of the equation. The people must be able to have faith in the news as it is reported and must be able to believe that the news is being presented fairly and without bias. But what happens when the so-called Free Press goes in the tank for one political faction at the expense of unbiased and fair reporting? What happens when the so-called free press reports lies time and again presenting it as unvarnished truth? The answer should be obvious: the decisions of the people are tainted and distorted by the lies.

MSM in America is for all intents operating as an extension of the Democrat party and the Obama campaign. The evidence of this surrounds us, any person of reasonable intelligence can easily find examples. For instance, would a truly free press pay so little attention to rampant accusations of voter fraud on a national scale or actively work to hide corruption of elected officials such as Rep. Tim Mahoney (D-Fla.)?

Whether you agree or not that MSM is in the tank, really doesn't matter. But what does matter is that you block out the hype, the lies, the glitter and the bull excrement and think for yourself and that you do let yourself be manipulated by the politicians and media.

Just as freedom of the press carries responsibilities, so does being a free man or woman. Our freedom has been paid for in the blood of our ancestors and it is our duty to assure that we not only defend our freedom but that we also use it wisely. Do your own digging for information. Al Franken Angrily Rushes Senator Coleman After Debate, Media Cameras Miss it

Al Franken has shown himself to be an angry, easily enraged man and after the October 16 Minnesota Senatorial candidate's debate he allowed his overwrought emotional state to send him over the edge once again. After the debate was over and the Media had turned off their microphones and cameras, Franken rushed over to Senator Norm Coleman's table and proceeded to angrily get in his face over some point or another made during the debate. Franken was getting so angry that his own wife had to rush over and force him to back off from a mounting confrontation with Coleman.

This isn't the only time that Al Franken has allowed his seemingly delicately balanced temperament to be tipped to unseemly anger. In fact, he's allowed himself to be driven to physical violence in the past. In 2004, for instance, Franken tackled a disruptive LaRouchie at a Howard Dean speech. He has also been known to get into shouting matches with rally attendees and opponents alike. Not to mention his past usage of intemperate or profane language and mean-spirited use of ridicule in his comedy routines and during his radio shows when he was an Air-America host.

Does Character Matter? Ask the Founders

There are countless reports of relationships Barack Hussein Obama has maintained through his climb up the political ladder. Racist preachers, unrepentant terrorists such as William Ayers and other members of the Weather Underground and even Mr. Resko, a convicted criminal. There is enough evidence, all very easily found with just a few minutes spent with Google, that one would think that Americans would be resoundingly rejecting Obama. And yet, many Americans seem to think that either past associations don't matter or are confused as to why these past relationships should matter.

The obvious answer to why the past associations matter is that they help to show the character of the person, in this case Obama. But rather than take my word for it, take a few minutes to read the words of some folks who risked everything, including their lives, to form this great nation.

Thomas Jefferson: "It is the manners and spirit of a people which preserve a republic in vigor. A degeneracy in these is a canker which soon eats to the heart of its laws and constitution... If a nation expects to be ignorant---and free---in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be... The whole art of government consists in the art of being honest. Only aim to do your duty, and mankind will give you credit where you fail... An honest man can feel no pleasure in the exercise of power over his fellow citizens."

When Is A "Tax Cut" Really Income Redistribution?

Frustrated by McCain's unwillingness to directly question Barry Obama's claim that he would give 95% of taxpayers a tax cut, we decided to, in our own small way, to do so ourselves.

The statistics speak for themselves. Only 62 percent of Americans pay federal income tax, meaning that 38 percent get a 100 percent refund of any taxes withheld. So Mr. Obama's 95 percent that will receive money from the government includes roughly 33 percent of Americans who pay no income tax. One-third of Americans pay no income taxes yet would receive a government check of perhaps $1,000 or more. [READ MORE]

Read the above very carefully folks. 38% of Americans already receive a 100% refund of their federal taxes. They pay no income tax and yet will receive additional tax refunds of up to $1,000.

Let's look a little deeper, shall we ...

Obama would repeal the Bush tax cuts of 2001 and 2003. Contrary to popular liberal myth, this tax cut benefits the small taxpayer as well as big business. Repealing this tax cut will, in effect, raise your taxes. Common sense says this is a tax increase.

Increasing taxes on businesses will only result in higher prices for consumers. It's called pass-thru. The businesses expenses (which includes taxes), increases and they pass-thru the increase to the consumer. While not technically an increase in individual taxes, it does add to the cost of goods which does affect the individual.

While it is popular to talk about excess profits by the oil industry, the fact is that over the 25 years ending in 2005, the oil industry paid over 2.2 TRILLION dollars in taxes. [READ MORE]. While it is popular, maybe even fun, to trash the oil industry, perhaps the question should be asked of Congress: "Where the heck did the 2.2 TRILLION go?".

It is too bad that the Republican Party and John McCain don't have the 'stones' to stand up and fight the lies and misstatements of the Obama campaign but that sems to be the reality. This makes it even more imperative that each and every one of us do our own digging, find our own sources of information that we can trust and decuide for ourselves.

Make no mistake about this: this election is not about political parties - it is for our very future. Please vote and please use that vote for the good of our country.

Just who are the racists?

Not to be outdone in their efforts to force Obama down the collective gullets of America, some black, elected officials are playing the tired old "race card". [READ MORE].

“He’s ‘not one of us?’” Mr. Meeks said, referring to a comment Sarah Palin made at a campaign rally on Oct. 6 in Florida. “That’s racial. That’s fear. They know they can’t win on the issues, so the last resort they have is race and fear.”

What a crock of bovine excrement. But don't take just my word for it, read the full quote in question from Gov. Palin:

“Our opponent,” Ms. Palin told donors in Englewood, Colo., “is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country.”

She added, “This is not a man who sees America like you and I see America,” she said. “We see America as a force of good in this world. We see an America of exceptionalism.”

For starters, I don't see the words "He's not one of us". Beyond that, Gov. Palin was speaking to donors, folks who happen to agree with her political position. She also happened to be speaking the truth.

Methinks the elected black officials are trying very hard to invent an issue and are once again resorting to the race card. They are trying to fire up fear in black voters and that my friends is the act of a racist. They are trying to play upon those weak minded whites who are gullible enough to believe that being white automatically makes you a racist.

Isn't it about time someone stood up and said 'enough is enough'? Haven't we had this bovine excrement thrown in our faces long enough?

Believing that Obama's relationship with a known and proven terrorist such as Bill Ayers shows a major lack of good judgement does not make you a racist. Believing that Obama's socialist policies will ruin America does not make you a racist. And voting for a white candidate instead of a black candidate does not make you a racist.

The definition of "racist" as listed by dictionary.com is as follows:

1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

Perhaps if these elected, black officials would review the definition, spend less time looking for "coded" phrases that indicate racism and actually address the issues, they might be seen as a group worthy of serious consideration.

There are racists in America and they dwell amongst every race - not just whites, but there is no proof that they majority of Americans are racists. Isn't it time that we stop reacting like puppets every time some political charlatan falsely accuses us of being a racist?

Americans of all colors are first and foremost Americans. And folks, we deserve better than cheap rhetorical tricks from clowns who make their living feeding at the public trough.

Another Boring night

Round 2 of the Presidential Debates ended a few minutes ago and I already wish I had spent the night hitting myself in the head with a hammer rather than listening to the same old drivel. Despite the fact that neither candidate stuck to the time limits they agreed upon, neither one ever gave a straight, to the point the answer. Heck, sometimes you had to wonder what question they were even answering.

While I didn't expect Obama to lambast the crooks in Congress for their part in this financial mess we are told currently exists, I did expect McCain to address the roles of Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd and the rest of the liberal Congress. He didn't.

This more or less set the tone for the rest of the so-called debate: a boring repetition of the same crap they have been shoveling for over two years.

Perhaps the problem was at least partially due to the format and selection of questions? This was supposed to be a Town Hall debate but the only similarity to a Town Hall debate was having common folks on the same stage with the candidates. The questions were preselected by Tom Brokaw thus eliminating any spontaneous give and take between the candidates and the audience.

It may come as a surprise to Browkaw, the candidates, MSM and the D.C Beltway insiders but we are interested in more than foreign policy questions. For instance:

1. What is your position on abortion - is it right or wrong?

2. What is your position on the Second Amendment?

3. Do you support amnesty for illegal criminal aliens?

4. Would you support efforts to mandate English as the official language of business and government?

5. What is your position on gay marriage - allow it or not?

6. Should a candidate be judged, at least in part, upon their past associations?

7. You both talk about change - explain clearly what you mean by change and what changes you are going to try and bring about?

8. ACORN, amongst others, have a proven track record of voter registration fraud. What will you do to stop this?

9. Senator Obama, are you aware that George Bush is not running for office?

Presidential Debates are supposed to mean something, are supposed to help educate the voters and clarify the positions of the candidates. Judged by these standards, this years debates have been nothing by one large waste of time.

During their first so-called debate, John McCain stood by passively and allowed Barry Obama to say just about anything he wanted regardless of the truth or accuracy of the statements. If Mr. McCain was betting on the mainstream media (MSM) to point out the inaccuracies and lies, he was placing a losing bet in a rigged game.

Tomorrow, October 7, is round two of the great staged Presidential debates of 2008. Barry Obama, and most likely his trusty teleprompter, will once again face off against John McCain. While it is tempting to take bets on the outcome, I suspect it will be declared an Obama victory and once again McCain will stand around like a tired old man afraid to speak out or attack the lies.

But there is one tactic that Mr. McCain could use that would save his failing campaign: he can fight back!. Rather than relying upon Gov. Palin to do his heavy lifting, it is high time that the so-called "Maverick" get into the game and show the American people that he is not a punching bag for Obama and his buddies in MSM. Rather than relying upon friendly parties in the blogosphere to fight his fights for him, it is long past time the "Maverick" to help himself.

Mr. McCain should realize that there are literally millions of voters who are still looking for a reason to vote for him and not just to vote against Obama. Many of these millions are still searching for a strong voice to speak out against the lies and inaccuracies of the left: actually showing some spine in a face to face debate would go a long way towards convincing these voters that McCain is indeed a viable leader and a clearly better choice than Barry Obama.

Who really supported deregulation of Fannie Mae?

Oh my, oh my. The facts regarding the Congressional malfeasance that set the stage for the Bailout Bill continue to come out. This time it is Congressman Barney Frank, Dem/liberal, MA. and his glaring conflict of interest.

WASHINGTON — Unqualified home buyers were not the only ones who benefited from Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank’s efforts to deregulate Fannie Mae throughout the 1990s.

So did Frank’s partner, a Fannie Mae executive at the forefront of the agency’s push to relax lending restrictions.

Now that Fannie Mae is at the epicenter of a financial meltdown that threatens the U.S. economy, some are raising new questions about Frank's relationship with Herb Moses, who was Fannie’s assistant director for product initiatives. Moses worked at the government-sponsored enterprise from 1991 to 1998, while Frank was on the House Banking Committee, which had jurisdiction over Fannie.

Both Frank and Moses assured the Wall Street Journal in 1992 that they took pains to avoid any conflicts of interest. Critics, however, remain skeptical.

"It’s absolutely a conflict," said Dan Gainor, vice president of the Business & Media Institute. "He was voting on Fannie Mae at a time when he was involved with a Fannie Mae executive. How is that not germane?

"If this had been his ex-wife and he was Republican, I would bet every penny I have - or at least what’s not in the stock market - that this would be considered germane," added Gainor, a T. Boone Pickens Fellow. "But everybody wants to avoid it because he’s gay. It’s the quintessential double standard." [READ MORE]

Most of the east coast based mainstream media (MSM) is jumping through hoops to avoid reporting anything critical of their Democrat/liberal friends in Congress - many of them the very same people who shoved the huge Bailout Bill down the throats of American taxpayers. And of course, the Dems/liberals themselves are blaming especially McCain, all of which is dutifully reported by their puppets in the MSM.

As for the Bailout Bill itself, the original price was estimated at $700 BILLION. With the Senate Sweeteners (pork and earmarks) the cost rises to a minimum of $850 BILLION with a very real possibility of reaching $1.8 TRILLION. [Click here to see the projected cost numbers].

Senate Bailout Bill Sweetners

Perhaps we should have titled this editorial "See the political piggies feeding at the trough"? After digging into several sources to find out just what this massive, over $700 billion bill contained, it has become painfully obvious that one of the primary purposes of the bailout bill is to provide earmarks to special interests in a bill that will not be vetoed. In other words, the boys and girls on Capitalk Hill are trying to sneak their pet projects through by taking advantage of what we are told is an emergency.

Taxpayers For Common Sense has a good piece listing ten of the more obvious pieces of pork [READ MORE]. This include such vital matters as:

1. Sec. 503. Exemption from excise tax for certain wooden arrows designed for use by children

2. Sec. 317. Seven-year cost recovery period for motorsports racing track facility

3. Sec. 308. Increase in limit on cover over of rum excise tax to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands

4. Sec. 301. Extension and modification of research credit

5. Sec. 504. Income averaging for amounts received in connection with the Exxon Valdez litigation

6. Sec. 601. Secure rural schools and community self-determination program.

7. Sec. 201. Deduction for state and local sales taxes (States that benefit include Texas, Nevada, Florida, Washington and Wyoming)

8. Sec 502. Provisions related to film and television productions

9. Sec. 325. Extension and modification of duty suspension on wool products; wool research fund; wool duty refunds

10. Sec. 309. Extension of economic development credit for American Samoa

There are other items that have been widely reported on various news sources, icluding FOXNews.com. Amongst these are :

—Provide business tax breaks, including for production of, investment in, and use of renewable fuels.

—Require group health plans that include mental health or addiction treatment to provide coverage for those conditions that is equitable to other medical coverage.

—Increase personal credits against the AMT, shielding more than 20 million taxpayers from the tax.

—Grant tax relief to victims of natural disasters in the Midwest and elsewhere.

—Extend through 2011 a program that funds rural schools and local governments that have low property-tax bases because they lie within or are adjacent to federal lands.

—Extend until end of 2009 individual tax breaks, including deductions for higher education costs and teachers' personal expenses.

—Increase, from $100,000 to $250,000, the limit on federal bank deposit insurance.

As you can see, what started out as an emergency measure to bailout Fannie Mae and others has grown into a huge conglomeration of items that are not at all related to the supposed crisis.

"Why has this happened?" you might ask. Political greed and an attempt to buy the votes of members of the House by funding their pet projects and causes.

In our digging around we have noticed something else that's rather interesting. We are not finding any detailed information explaining how the bailout and all the "sweeteners" are going to be paid for. We know that we taxpayers are going to be stuck with the bill but how is the bill going to be paid for? Even if you repeal the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts and immediately stop the Iraqi war, the government still does not have enough money and we would be paying higher taxes. [READ MORE]

So we are about to go $700 billion further in the hole to cover up for Congressional malfeasance (READ MORE], and we haven't started to talk about the planned expenditure of either Presidential candidate, especially Obama.

Isn't it about time we told the big spenders in Congress that they can pack their bags and get out of town and out of our lives? It is not to late to take our country back.

Well hell, we might as well all just give up, fold the tents, pack it in, and retreat into our hovels with our guns and Bibles and wait for the government to take care of us all.

Or we can get angry and stand and fight back.

Reject the lies of mainstream media - there is a wealth of information documenting just who exactly Obama really is, what he really stands for, who his supporters are, where his money is coming from and what he wants to do to the American Dream. Take the time to do a bit of searching and reading and decide for yourself.

Take this election very seriously folks. Our future and the future of our children will be directly affected by the way we vote in November. We owe it ot future generations to stand up and fight for America, to throw out each any every liberal/socialist in office and to reject the most liberal socialist Presidential candidate in recent memory.

Bailing Out Congress

By a vote of 228-205, the U.S. House of Representatives rejected the bill designed to bailout Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, AIG and other Wall Street entities. Despite the best efforts of Rep. Pelosi and other Democrat party leaders, over 40% of the House Democrats voted against the bill. Undoubtedly you have heard a variety of talking heads and politicians give a wide range of reasons for the failure of the bill to pass the House. The Spin Doctors have indeed been busy. What is almost never mentioned is that members of the House heard loud and clear from the folks back home that they did not want their tax dollars going to bailout Wall Street.

Bush and a host of leading congressional figures had implored the lawmakers to pass the legislation despite howls of protest from their constituents back home.

Why is this bailout so important? Why the urgency? How could this seemingly come about virtually overnight? Who is to blame and who will benefit? In January 2008, the Obama campaign formed the South Carolina Truth Squad. According to former Sen. Tom Daschle, an Obama supporter, the purpose of the SC Truth Squad was to respond forcefully to “the incredible distortions that are coming from the Clinton campaign in particular and our desire to set the record straight".

“Over and over again,” Daschle said, “we find the Clinton campaign has made an overt effort to distort his [Obama’s] record.”

Fast forward to late September 2008. Once again, Barry and his campaign minions are using the same tactics to try and silence critics with the formation of a Missouri Obama Truth Squad.

St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce and St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch are threatening to bring libel charges against those who speak out falsely against Barack Obama.

Dating back to his campaign for a seat in the Illinois state Senate, Obama has used a the same or very similar tactics designed to silence any opposition. The intent is not to respond to and refute the opposition - the intent is to silence the opposition.

Liberals (aka "progressives"), are fond of labeling conservatives as fascist and painting President Bush as the second coming of Hitler. However, the formation of these Obama Truth Squads is something straight out of the play books of Hitler and Stalin. To make the matter even more damning, the inclusion of ELECTED law enforcement officials in such an effort makes the Obama Truth Squads even more alarming and even more of a threat to the freedom of political speech.

Missouri Governor Matt Blunt has issued a statement which we are including below.

“St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, and Obama and the leader of his Missouri campaign Senator Claire McCaskill have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign.

“What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment.

“This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson. I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson’s thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights. The only conceivable purpose of Messrs. McCulloch, Obama and the others is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate, to suppress support and donations to conservative organizations targeted by this anti-civil rights, to strangle criticism of Mr. Obama, to suppress ads about his support of higher taxes, and to choke out criticism on television, radio, the Internet, blogs, e-mail and daily conversation about the election.

Placing the Blame

The $700 BILLION dollar bailout is the result of many years of politics, greed, bad decisions and poorly conceived government policy. There is more than enough blame to go around without regard to political party.

We Predict Bye Bye Biden

Right now the McCain/Palin campaign is taking big bites out of the substantial lead that Obama/Biden held as recently as a month ago. [Current Polling Data]. Despite the best efforts of mainstream media to attack McCain and destroy Palin, the new messiah of American politics is sliding downhill rapidly.

I doubt that the Democrat party will stand by and let Obama lose this election. The most obvious change that could be made is to the Vice Presidential candidate. In fact, it is our prediction that some time early in October, Joe Biden will be sent to the showers and will be replaced. The only question is who will be tapped? Sen. Clinton seems like the obvious pick at this point.

It is common knowledge that Obama can give one heckuva a speech as long as he is on the telepromter and sticking to the speech prepared for him. Most of his many, many gaffes have come as he speaks with his faithful teleprompter.

Sarah Palin is the most refreshing face in national politics. A strong woman who has bucked the machine and gained prominent office and through it she has been Mom, Wife and partner. It is only inevitable the the liberal attack machine, including mainstream media, would be working overtime to discredit her.

The have questioned whether she is really the mother of her youngest, down syndrome child. She is.

They have attacked her and her 17 year old daughter because her daughter is pregnant out of wedlock. How many American families have faced this same problem?

They claim she is inexperienced and yet she is the only candidate to actually have any experience running an organization. [For the record, Obama, you don;t run your campaign, that is what you pay your campaign manager to do.]

They have released a 63 page document compiled in 2005 listing all of the so-called evils of Sarah Palin such as opposing abortion and strongly defending the inclusion of God in the Pledge of Allegiance. The document was compiled to use against her in 2005 during her run for the Governor's job in Alaska and was put together by a person now on staff with Obama. For the record - she won a very decisive victory.

With the inclusion of Sarah Palin many conservatives, including me, finally have a reason to vote FOR McCain and not just against Obama. But the pressure from the mainstream media and the leftist attack machine is building and one has to wonder if the Republicans will buckle and dump Sarah or will they show some backbone and stand by this strong American woman?

Like it or not, we are all judged by others in part by the associations that form. It does not matter if it is fair to do this or not, it is a fact of life, a fact that we all must live with. Barry Obama, the Democrat/socialist party candidate for President of the United States is no exception.

The American Issues Project is currently running an ad on local television outlets and the internet that raises the issue of Obama's longtime ties to William Ayers, a self confessed terrorist.

Ayers told the New York Times at one point several years ago, "I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough." He is married to fellow Weather Underground founder Bernadine Dohrn, who once was on the FBI's Top 10 Most Wanted List and described by J. Edgar Hoover as the "most dangerous woman in America."

The response from the Obama camp is to try and shut down the American Issues Project and to threaten TV stations with boycotts if they run the ad. [Read more.] Despite 168 pages of backup documentation and a plethora of public documents and videos that substantiate the claims made in the ad, Obama is claiming that the ad is false, deceptive and unfair. At the same time this flap is exploding around Obama's rather ample ears, there is also the little matter of campaign contributions from members of the the radical Muslim Brotherhood, including at least one member under active Federal investigation for terrorist activities [Read more]. While other Democrats have returned contributions from this source, the Obama campaign remains silent and keeps the money.

Obama and his minions in the mainstream media would have us believe that there is no truth to any of these allegations. Rather than providing hard proof of their claims, the Obama people attack the sources and try to use the force of government to silence critics. Rather than prove that they are right, the Obama people call the source names and make wild allegations of their own. Rather than face these issues like reasonable adults, they stomp their little footsies and run to Big Brother to protect them.

Is this the person we want sitting in the Oval Office? A man with ties to known terrorists and who's campaign gladly accepts funds from enemies of the United States?

I believe, when election day comes, the American people will see through the lies of the mainstream media, the Democrat/socialist party, union leaders and other power hungry liberals and do the right thing for America.

Obama - Biden : This is change?

For the past several days we have been inundated with a flood of discussion, analysis and opinions from the Mainstream media (MSM), all designed to convince us that with the naming of Joe Biden as his VP choice, the new messiah Obama has now all but wrapped up the elections this fall. But something doesn't ring true.

For starters, Obama has campaigned on 'Change' and yet he has picked one of the ultimate Washington D.C. insiders as his VP. Somehow 35 years in the Senate just doesn't sound like 'Change'. If anything it sounds like more of the same old political party garbage.

Then there is the matter of Biden being able to deliver Pennsylvania for the Democrat/socialists in November. While he was born in Pennsylvania, the fact is that he has not lived there for over 50 years.

We are also being told that Biden brings balance to the ticket. When I first heard one of the MSM talking heads say this I almost busted a gut laughing. Balance? Two ultra-liberals do not make for a balanced ticket. Just how stupid does the MSM and the Democrat/socialist party think we are?

Folks, in the Obama/Biden ticket what we have are two of the most liberal Senators in Washington D.C. We have a ticket that is staunchly anti-2nd Amendment, pro-abortion and infanticide, very big government and tax and spend liberal. This ticket does what I thought would be impossible and that is to make uber-liberal George McGovern appear to be a moderate.

Having disposed of Senator Clinton with a campaign that promised 'Change', Obama has now come full circle back to more of the same old garbage.

It will never be more important for conservatives to work to make sure that this ticket fails in November. It really is not about supporting McCain - it is about supporting and defending our way of life.

Cleaning Up Congress

Sen. Ted Stevens (R - Alaska). Senator Larry Craig (R - Idaho). Rep. William Jefferson (D - Louisiana). President William Jefferson Clinton. Former Sen. John Edwards (D - North Carolina). The list elected and public officials accused of unethical and / or illegal actions goes on and on and on. The list is limited to one political party or another, to just liberals or conservatives.

These are people who have placed themselves in the public eye, told us how they wanted to serve us and how they were the best choice for the position. We believed them only to find out that they were corrupt, out of touch with the people and that they believe themselves to be above the same laws and social mores to which the rest of us adhere. You would think we would be smart enough to kick them out of office but no, these low lifes are usually returned to the very office that they disgraced with their arrogance and corruption. [Sometimes we can be so stupid.]

Isn't it time that we the people get our heads out of our collective butts and do something about this problem? For starters, let's make sure that anyone running for office at least meets some basic requirements. In other words, let's put them through the same process that any of us must face if we want a job.

1. We have to provide proof of citizenship.

2. A huge majority are subjected to drug testing - even after getting the job.

3. Background and credit checks are common.

4. We are questioned by our perspective employers and not some self-appointed surrogates in corporate media.

5. We are expected to be able to prove that we have the basic skills and education needed to perform the job.

Will putting wannabe elected officials through this process guarantee a good hire? No but it will start to separate out those who clearly should not be a position of power over our lives. It is however, crucial that we re-establish a degree of trust in our political system and politicians in general. When we go to the ballot box, we should be confident that all of the candidates meet a minimal set of qualifications.

An additional benefit of this sort of process would be to eliminate some of the manufactured drama that crops up in every campaign. If Barry Obama was required to present a validated birth certificate before starting his campaign, there would not be ongoing doubts as to his true citizenship.

Americans, we can whine and cry and complain about polpigs all we want but unless we are willing to each take responsibility, think for ourselves and demand a high level of qualification, we will end up with just what we deserve - a collection of narcissistic, self absorbed, arrogant elitists who are wildly out of touch with the common folks.

Congress's Summer Vacation

If you are like most working folks, you get one or two weeks of vacation time AFTER spending the year working, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year. To get 5 weeks of paid vacation after working less than 200 days is a dream, unless of course you are a member of Congress.

The most recent polls show that the American people, the folks that Congress works for, give Congress a favorable rate of 9% - less than even the hated George Bush. Said another way, the employers (us) ain't happy with the work of the employees (Congress). However, that does not stop Congress from giving itself a 5 week summer vacation, with pay.

What could you do with a paid 5 week vacation this summer? Of course, folks, you must remember that we are the peons and members of Congress are the elites.

Do yourself, as well as the rest of us, a favor this fall - kick out every seated member of Congress. Send the clear message: "you work for us and not us for you".

"New Era" Energy Bill Equals Same Old Screwing

Most Americans have probably learned that anytime politicians talk about "bipartisan" solutions, they are saying that they do not have the courage to take a stand and that we the people are about to get screwed - AGAIN. Well folks, hang on to your wallets and be prepared for the inevitable barrage of lies and spin that mass media will soon be dumping on us all because the bipartisan "Gang Of 10" is now pushing something they are calling the "New Era Energy Bill".

The "New Era Energy" bill is a dream come true for anti-drilling forces. Massive amounts of money will be confiscated and transferred to the development of alternative energy sources while drilling within 50 miles of the US coast, including in the ANWR area, will still be banned. While development of alternative sources is a good thing for the future, we need to provide more crude oil NOW and we need to reduce reliance upon foreign oil NOW. [READ MORE]

It does not take a genius to see what is really behind the "New Era" bill. On September 30, 2008 the current Congressional ban on drilling will expire unless Congress votes to renew the ban. The "New Era" bill simply provides some nicey nice words and feel good programs while extending the ban. The end result is no new oil and no immediate reduction in reliance upon foreign oil. Rather than forcing each and every member of Congress to go on record as either supporting or rejecting the drilling ban, the gutless cowards can now hide behind the "New Era" bill. Amazingly,
(sarcasm intended), this all takes place just before the fall elections.

The American people have clearly spoken and demanded that we drill now and this is what Congress gives us in reply. Rather than simply doing nothing and allowing the oil drilling ban to die the send of September, Congress has screwed us again. And we don't even get a kiss afterwards.

So prepare yourself my friends for the countless talking heads who will tell you what a wonderful thing this is. I for one have faith that the American people will be able to see through the smoke and mirrors and see this for exactly what it is: one more in a long line of Congressional screw jobs.

Over 70% of the American people demand that Congress lift the ban on drilling offshore and in the ANWR. This outcry, together with a reduction in gasoline usage by the American people, help to drive down the cost of crude oil. Lifting the ban and actually getting the crude oil actually flowing will certainly help drive down prices even further. However, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Dem - California, acting more like Marie Antionette than as a representative of the American people, refuses to allow debate on any measure aimed at removing the drilling bans and instead shuts down the House and runs away along with 50 or so of her minions [READ MORE].

Rather than face the wrath of the voters in an election year, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States of America takes the cowards way out.

The presumptive Democrat candidate for President, Barrack Hussien Obama, the so called great speechifier and new messiah of world politics, refuses to participate in any Town Hall meetings against the Republican John McCain [READ MORE]. His "people" claim that there isn't enough time but the truth is that Barry just does not do very well unless he is reading a speech written for him and being displayed on a teleprompter [READ MORE]. For the record, in what passes for debates there days, the candidate respond to a pre-approved set of questions for a pre-approved selection of big media reporters. In a Town Hall, WE THE PEOPLE actually get a chance to ask unscripted questions.

Destroying E-commerce the Congressional Way

Fundamental to electronic commerce is the willingness of purchasers to trust that the seller will protect the privacy of the transaction and of their credit card information. Millions upon millions of dollars have been spent to provide a process that customers can trust and now in one sweeping move all of that will be swept away by an act of Democrat/socialist controlled Congress.

Buried deep within the massive, 630-page housing bailout bill that is close to being passed and signed are some rather interesting tidbits. For instance, there is this:

Payment Card and Third Party Network Information Reporting. The proposal requires information reporting on payment card and third party network transactions. Payment settlement entities, including merchant acquiring banks and third party settlement organizations, or third party payment facilitators acting on their behalf, will be required to report the annual gross amount of reportable transactions to the IRS and to the participating payee. Reportable transactions include any payment card transaction and any third party network transaction. Participating payees include persons who accept a payment card as payment and third party networks who accept payment from a third party settlement organization in settlement of transactions. In a nutshell, this bill will require all credit card companies, eBay, Amazon, Google and other payment gateway companies to report to the Federal government any purchase you make using a credit or debit card. All of this information will be kept in a database controlled by the Federal government. Given the Feds past record with securing data, this has to raise an immediate concern over security and privacy.

Beyond the very real concerns regarding security and privacy, one has to wonder why is the Fed doing this, what are they going to do with the data and why does the Fed want to know what you might have sold or purchased on eBay or any other ecommerce web site or even at a local business? You also have to ask what right does the Fed have to collect this information in the first place?

We also must ask why was this provision inserted into this housing bailout bill WITHOUT debate and without allowing the public -- that's you and me folks -- time to react and contact our Federal representatives? What the heck is Sen. Christopher Dodd, DEM - Connecticut, doing and why does he want the give the Federal government this level of power and control over the America people and America business?

Consider how this information can be used. Everything you buy using a credit or payment card will be known to the government (and any hackers that steal the data from the government). EVERYTHING folks. This will also make known to the government any political contributions you make using your plastic ending the sanctity and privacy of political donations.

While the popular wisdom holds that it is the evil conservatives that seek to take away our rights, this bill clearly shows that it is liberals who strive to control every facet of our lives.

This bill will pass, after all it is an election year and housing bailout is a politically popular issue. When it does pass, this provision will become law. How much damage will this provision do to electronic commerce is yet to be seen but I for one will be rethinking the use of the credit and payment cards and the use of ecommerce web sites.

In case you hadn't heard, the "Magic Negro Tour" featuring the New Messiah of Politics continues to chug across the middle east and Europe. Of course, about the only way you would not be aware of this is if you spent the last week or so deep inside a cave in the Rocky Mountains as mainstream media has engaged in 24 x 7, all-Obama, all the time coverage. In fact, if you could stomach the nightly news cast for a few minutes, you would undoubtedly hear how huge throngs everywhere gathered to pay homage to the New Messiah.

But not everything is sunshine and lollipops in Obamaland.

The Huge Berlin Crowd
While the American media minions reported the crowd in Berlin for Chebama's speech at 200,000 German Public Television reports during the event put the crowd at a much smaller number: 20,000. [READ MORE].

One year ago in South Carolina, Obama was asked:

You could not write a script any better than this. No sooner are the efforts of Boxer, Oberstar and the rest of Democrat/socialist crew reported [READ EARLIER STORY], then yet another story pops up. The arrogance of the political elite is stunning.

In an interview with Bloomberg TV's "Money and Politics" last night, Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., explained Democrats don't want to increase supplies of oil and gasoline because they want to wean Americans off of petroleum products.

Asked point-blank if Democrats in the Senate would consider how increasing the supply of oil would lower the prices that are pinching U.S. consumers, Cantwell replied: "Oh, we definitely want to move beyond petroleum. And so there will be a supply side offered by the Democrats and it will include everything from battery technology to making sure that we have good home domestic supply, and looking, as I said about moving faster on those kind of things like wind and solar that can help us with our high cost of natural gas." Can it be any clearer? Can even those who voted for the Democrat/socialists rulers still hide their heads in the sand or blame Bush? Are we the people going to put up with such arrogance and self righteous idiocy?

Write letters. Make phone calls. Send emails. Challenge your "representatives" in Congress. Demand that they expand drilling for American gas and oil NOW. Remind them that the search for alternative technologies is valid but will not meet the needs of this country for several decades.

Despite high gas prices and a huge majority of Americans supporting a drill now policy, the Democrat/socialist controlled Congress stil refuses to listen to the people. “I don’t think that you throw the Alaskan [Arctic] National Wildlife [Refuge] into oil drilling,” Boxer said. “You don’t need to do it. If you look at what’s in there, it would keep us going for six months when you can do so much more. I mean, with the acreage that is already in the oil companies’ hands. Not only does Her Highness refuse to open the ANWR, she flippantly tosses out misleading and false facts [READ MORE]. While mounting her throne and making her pronouncements, Her Highness Boxer most importantly ignores the will of the majority of American taxpayers.

Perhaps if Her Highness Boxer were not financially supported by we the taxpayers she might be more willing to listen to our voices. Perhaps if she had to pump $4.00 a gallon gas and pay out of her own pocket she might get the message. But as a Congressional elite, the socialist senator from California live high on the government hog.

Not to be outdone, Democrat/socialists in the House led by Minnesota's own Congressman Oberstar (D-MN) are starting to lay the groundwork for an increase in the Federal gas tax to be used to fund their earmark highway programs [READ MORE]. The short and sweet of this is that rather than eliminate their pork barrel, earmark pet projects, the Democrat/socialist controlled Congress wants to raise OUR taxes.

The bottom line is that it is Congress and NOT the President who passes the laws that the rest of us have to live with. If we truly believe in freedom and individual rights, we must eradicate Congress of socialists such as Boxer.

While mainstream media continues to fawn over the new messiah of the left, Barrack Hussien Obama, the fact is the "best hope for change" really is nothing much more than just another two-bit Chicago politician. A good case in point is Obama's failed housing policy while a state senator in Illinois.

Obama, as a presidential candidate, has been promising to create an Affordable Housing Trust Fund worth approximately $500 million a year to developers. The objective would be to build and manage more 'affordable housing'. This is just about the same approach that Obama sponsored while a state senator, an approach that has proven to be a dismal failure for the people who were supposed to benefit while being a success for several of Obama supporters and campaign donors.

CHICAGO - The squat brick buildings of Grove Parc Plaza, in a dense neighborhood that Barack Obama represented for eight years as a state senator, hold 504 apartments subsidized by the federal government for people who can't afford to live anywhere else.

But it's not safe to live here.

About 99 of the units are vacant, many rendered uninhabitable by unfixed problems, such as collapsed roofs and fire damage. Mice scamper through the halls. Battered mailboxes hang open. Sewage backs up into kitchen sinks. In 2006, federal inspectors graded the condition of the complex an 11 on a 100-point scale - a score so bad the buildings now face demolition.

Grove Parc has become a symbol for some in Chicago of the broader failures of giving public subsidies to private companies to build and manage affordable housing - an approach strongly backed by Obama as the best replacement for public housing.

Among those tied to Obama politically, personally, or professionally are:

Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to Obama's presidential campaign and a member of his finance committee. Jarrett is the chief executive of Habitat Co., which managed Grove Parc Plaza from 2001 until this winter and co-managed an even larger subsidized complex in Chicago that was seized by the federal government in 2006, after city inspectors found widespread problems.

Allison Davis, a major fund-raiser for Obama's US Senate campaign and a former lead partner at Obama's former law firm. Davis, a developer, was involved in the creation of Grove Parc and has used government subsidies to rehabilitate more than 1,500 units in Chicago, including a North Side building cited by city inspectors last year after chronic plumbing failures resulted in raw sewage spilling into several apartments.

Antoin "Tony" Rezko, perhaps the most important fund-raiser for Obama's early political campaigns and a friend who helped the Obamas buy a home in 2005. Rezko's company used subsidies to rehabilitate more than 1,000 apartments, mostly in and around Obama's district, then refused to manage the units, leaving the buildings to decay to the point where many no longer were habitable.

Campaign finance records show that six prominent developers - including Jarrett, Davis, and Rezko - collectively contributed more than $175,000 to Obama's campaigns over the last decade and raised hundreds of thousands more from other donors. Rezko alone raised at least $200,000, by Obama's own accounting.

One of those contributors, Cecil Butler, controlled Lawndale Restoration, the largest subsidized complex in Chicago, which was seized by the government in 2006 after city inspectors found more than 1,800 code violations.

ObamaMessiah is calling for Congress to close a tax loophole signed into law by Bill Clinton. This particular gift from Bubba was a loophole that has allowed oil speculators to run wild. In and of itself, this is a good idea. However, it is hardly an "activist, populist approach to regulating business". He is simply taking credit for the efforts made by many others before him.

The problem with this "oil policy" is that it is a one-trick pony and will not lower gas prices one cent nor develop an iota of new resources. Rather than drill for proven reserves, ObamaMessiah like all liberals (aka progressives), is simply pushing for even greater government control of private industry. Rather than really fix a problem, they choose to set up a government entity to make things even worse.

Democrat party answer to high gas prices? More government control

It is very easy to say that while gas and diesel fuel prices continue to skyrocket, the Democrat/socialist controlled Congress continues to do nothing. This is actually not true. In the infinite wisdom that all liberals assume is their birthright, the Decomcrat/socialist controlled Congress has decided that the best answer is to nationalize the oil refineries [read more].

It is almost impossible to believe that the liberals of the Democrat/socialist party have ever read the Constitution despite having taken a sacred oath to protect and defend the Constitution. It is, however, very easy to believe that once again their solution to a problem is more government control.

As of the end of May, at least 73% of the American people believe we should be allowed to drill for oil offshore now [read more]. I am certain that this number has, and will continue to grow as the price at the pump goes up. And since every consumer product at some point relies upon our transportation system, the price of just about everything, including our basic food supply, climbs rapidly.

Simple logic tells us that expanding the available supply will do more to control and lower fuel prices than any government clusterfrak. We are sitting upon huge offshore reserves as well as massive supplies in the ANWR and another estimated 4.3 BILLION barrels in the Bakken Formation. America has the oil resources needed to become independent of foreign interests and to protect our economy. So why aren't we already tapping these resources?

Finding viable alternative energy sources is certainly a laudable goal but realistically even if a magic solution were found today it would be at least 20 years before it could brought online sufficient to power our homes and factories. Remember folks, it isn't enough to have a new source, you also have to convert the existing systems to handle the new source and that will take time and a huge wad of cash.

Our needs are NOW, not 20 years down the road.

So what is the answer of the Democrat/socialist controlled Congress? Continue to ban drilling for our own oil and for the government to take over a privately owned industry.

Not only is this completely contrary to every belief this country has been built upon, it also won't do a damn thing to help. Controlling the refineries will not increase the supply of crude coming into the refineries. Government control of the refineries will not result in a single additional drop of gas reaching the pump at your local gas station. All that will be achieved is an expansion of government control of yet another facet of our lives.

You also have to ask yourself what comes after nationalizing the refineries? More of the failed Jimmy Carter price controls? Gas rationing? What industry will be next to be taken away from it's rightful owners by the government - health care, the airlines, food production?

It is high time that we the people tell the Democrat/socialist controlled Congress that we want realistic, viable solutions to the problems NOW, that we are not willing to suffer for decades while they fiddle about like a bunch of demented sycophants.

Political Pollution Floods The Airwaves, Again

Tis the season for where politicians, aka polpigs, kick things into high gear in their pursuit of a spot at the feeding trough. No venue will be safe from their promises, claims, lies, accusations and deceit. Print media. Television. Radio. Even the internet is not safe. You can run but you can't hide from Political Ads.

These fairy tales come in many flavors but as far as I am concerned none are as obnoxious as the "Tell So and So" ads. I don't know what these are officially categorized as so we'll stick with "Tell So and So" for our purposes.

You've all seen "Tell So and So" ads. A folksy sounding voice tells you how the target of the ad has done something evil and rotten and finishes with "Call Senator Blowhard and tell him that you are afraid for your children's future" or "Call Jim Jones and ask him who he really supports - big industry or the taxpayers". Rarely are these ads sponsored by the actual candidate. The sponsors are groups like the "Friends of Senator Noggin" or "Citizens Against Dirty Underwear" or "Friends of Teacher's Unions". In other words, political action groups or special interests.

It is bad enough that polpigs on the stump desperately avoid saying anything direct and to the point without having these various groups doing the dirty work for the candidate. This allows the candidate to disavow any knowledge of the ad and keep his or her dainty hands clean.

Thank goodness for the television remote control because I have decided that I am going to try my damnedest to avoid all of the "Tell So and So" ads this year. I am not going to call anyone or tell anyone anything touted by one of the "Tell So and So" ads. This won't stop these stupid ads but will help keep my blood pressure under control.

The Political Silly Season is bad enough without the constant hammering from every political candidate and cause known to man. Another summer filled with political rhetoric and not a single morsel of true information amongst all of the garbage. Heaven help us all and protect us from these fools and idiots. And keep fresh batteries in your remote controls.

Dear Senator Klobuchar,

Thank you for your e-newsletter. I found the comments regarding your "Fighting for Consumer Relief at the Gas Pump, More comprehensive action needed to put consumers first" quite interesting. To quote:

"Klobuchar also supports measures that would pressure OPEC to increase oil production by giving the U.S. Attorney General authority to bring enforcement action against foreign governments that are colluding to set the price of oil. To address the nation’s long-term energy independence, Klobuchar has also said Congress should roll back the billions of dollars in tax giveaways that oil companies currently receive and invest the revenue in long-term solutions, including renewable, alternative fuels."

I am not sure what color the sky is in your part of the world but this is some of the most pie-in-the-sky, feel good rhetoric that I have heard in quite some time.

Even the most optimistic alternative energy "experts" acknowledge that it will take years, if not decades before enough alternative energy can be brought online to fuel our economy and to convert our existing infrastructure to use those alternative sources. The cost to consumers would run into the billions, if not trillions of dollars while over this period.

Suing foreign nationals and slapping the wrists of the oil companies amount to nothing more than a refusal to take a realistic look at the problems and will not result in a single penny of savings for our consumers nor one iota more of energy. About the only ones to benefit for these actions are the squadron of lawyers who would be put to work on these efforts.

America controls or has access to enough crude oil resources to provide for our needs for quite some time to come and certainly long enough for alternative energy sources to be identified, tested, and brought on line. Yet you continue to work against allowing Americans to develop these crude oil resources.

While the Communist Chinese government drills for oil off of our Gulf Coast, you advocate suing OPEC.

We urge you Senator to quit pandering to the minority and allow Americans to immediately pursue our crude oil resources. I am certain that the oil companies will happily match the campaign funds you receive from the eco-fringe.

Here We Go Again Minnesota - Hold On To Your Wallets

Just about the time you think they can't raise your taxes any higher, the politicians and special interests come up with a new way to confiscate more of your hard earned wages. This time it is the "Vote Yes Campaign".

You might wonder what the heck is the "Vote Yes Campaign"? Well, put simply, the "Vote Yes Campaign" intends to convince you to approve an amendment to the Minnesota state constitution. The Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment would raise the state sales tax by 3/8 of 1 percent and set aside the proceeds for habitat restoration, water cleanup and cultural programs.

Why is The Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment needed? Darned good question.

In 1988 voters approved amendment 202 to create Minnesota Environment and Natural Resource Trust Fund to provide support for environmental, natural resource and wildlife programs.

We approved amendment 205 in 1990. This amendment dedicated 40% of the proceeds from the Minnesota lottery to the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund through the year 2001.

1998 brought amendment 209 extending the commitment of lottery funds to the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund. Also passed in 1998 was amendment 210 intended to preserve our hunting and fishing heritage.

The polpigs and special interest groups are coming back to feed at the trough, folks. Obviously 40% of the lottery proceeds didn't satisfy their hunger - now they want a new increase in sales tax. Rather than using a percentage of the funds from an expansion in legal gambling such as off track betting and the creation of a Racino at Canterbury, the supporters of the The Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment want to confiscate your money through another tax.

Get ready folks for a summer of emotionally charged commercials and ads touting the benefits of this new amendment. What we will not see is any plain english explanation as to why the combination of the dedicated lottery funds and a portion of our ridiculously high state income tax is not sufficient to meet the needs.

Hopefully Minnesotans are starting to wake up to the methods of the DFL and their special interest supporters and will resoundingly vote "NO" this fall. Adding another tax on top of the expanded sales tax and gas taxes passed this year by the DFL is plainly a bad idea at a time when family budgets are being stretched to the limits by high taxes, high energy costs, high food costs and increasing unemployment.

[If you didn't know this proposed constitutional amendment was coming, don't feel too bad : I suspect most Minnesotans are in the same boat. If you are also wondering how this can pop up and be on the ballot while other proposed amendments such banning gay marriages or creating a single-house legislature never seem to make it, again don't feel like you're alone. The answer is simple, the legislator does not trust us with a tax payer driven Initiative and Referendum process.]

A Time of Reflection and Giving Thanks

Memorial Day, a time set aside to reflect upon the sacrifices that so many have made to provide us with the life we so abundantly enjoy. Whether the conflict was popular (World War II), or unpopular (Viet Nam), our military has stood tall and taken care of business. Never once has our military been defeated - Viet Nam was lost through the failures of gutless politicians sitting in safety in Washington DC.

Some have come home to massive celebrations; others have been showered with chicken guts and called baby killers. Regardless, the next time they were called upon, they went and took care of business.

Many have gone into harm's way only to come home and find that the benefits they had been promised had been eliminated by lying politicians and bureaucrats who had never faced any danger greater than getting a bad haircut.

Despite the best efforts of mainstream media, liberal politicians and cowards hiding behind academic credentials, the majority of the American people have never forgotten that the men and women of our military are true heroes deserving of our full support both on the field and once they come home.

As you enjoy your Memorial Day weekend in this the year of our Lord 2008, please ponder on this: once again liberal politicians are trying to turn a military victory into defeat in Iraq, liberal politicians are spending more tax dollars supporting illegal criminal aliens than we spend on caring for our returning vets and there are still American troops listed as POW/MIA.

So America, let's all raise our glass in a toast to our military and make a sacred promise that

1. We will never again allow a lack of political will and/or cowardice to dishonor the missions that our military undertake

Has anyone else noticed a shrill shrieking filling the airwaves? I am, of course, talking about the lies, accusations and misinformation spewing forth from the fascists driving The Great Global Warming Hysteria. And despite increasing reports from reputable scientists [read] debunking the lies of Al Gore and his cult of celebrity followers, the volume of the oppressive shrieks keeps climbing.

Let's clear the air a bit here. Man-made global warming is pure bunk supported only by pseudo-science, unproven claims and outright lies. We may very well be experiencing a degree of natural global warming, as has happened countless times in the history of this planet, but we people are not causing it.

So what is behind this global warming hysteria? Greed and an obsessive need to control the lives of everyone. Nothing more, nothing less.

Name a problem and it has probably been blamed on global warming. In fact, check out A complete list of things caused by global warming. Click any 'problem' listed there and you will be taken to the actual documentation. The list is amazing. Acne, I35 bridge collapse, earth spinning faster, earth slowing down, evolution accelerating, fish catches drop, fish catches rise, deaf fish, heart disease, HIV epidemic, seals mating more, smaller brains, a truffle shortage and hundreds of other equally silly and often contradictory issues.

Wake up folks. This hysteria is nothing more than an attempt by an elite few to gain power of all industry and the lives of every individual while making a nice, tidy fortune at the same time. The lead pig at the trough is none other than Al Gore [read] with his cash-cow carbon offset scam.

If there is global warming, so what? It is a natural cycle. Things get warm, things cool off. 30 years ago many of the same global warming hypocrites were warming about the impending Ice Age. Nature, which does include we lowly humans, has always adapted and always will. And we have done so without yielding control of our lives to self-appointed elitists and scam mongers.

Here's a little climate change history to ponder. About 985 AD, Vikings settled in what is now known as Greenland. The land supported crops, provided ample grazing for sheep and cattle, the waters were clear, ice free and full of cod and seals. By 1100 there were three thousand settlers. The Little Ice Age made life on Greenland virtually impossible and the last supply ship able to make it to the colonists was in 1410.

The Little Ice Age was fading when Denmark recolonized Greenland in 1721. Today, Greenland is home to over 50,000 people, a large number of sheep and a growing tourism industry. While archaeologists have uncovered the remains of the original villages and settlers, not a single SUV or nuclear plant has been found ;>

It ain't Bush - Congress is the enemy

Folks, Congress, not the President, writes the bills that become law. Congress votes the spending measures, creates taxes and gives final approval of Supreme Court nominees. The President can suggest, request and if needs be veto a bill but Congress is really in the driver's seat since they can override the President's veto.

Sometimes Congress and the President agree on a bill, sometimes they don't. But always it is Congress that must pass a bill.

Every Bush policy that so many hate has been backed by Congress. Congress voted for the Iraqi war. Congress voted for the Patriot Act. Congress passed the economic policies that have led to economic hardship for many American citizens.

So what if Bush is gone this fall, the same Congress will still be in charge and still working for their own special interests and power. Unless we the people get it through our thick skulls that real change starts with Congress, we are going to be even worse off.

This election is not about Democrat/socialists versus Republicans as much as mainstream media would like you to believe. The real struggle is for our culture and society. Do we reclaim the principles that our Founders fought for or do we continue to move towards socialism?

Wake up people - Congress is not our friend and needs to be overhauled top to bottom.

And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.

And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or antitrade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Take a moment to let those words sink in. The New Messiah of American Idol politics is telling you and me that we are incapable of doing a damned thing without the government telling us how, that we are all sitting around getting bitter because BigGov has not come to our rescue and that we value our individual freedoms and worship God only because BigGov has not ridden in on a white horse to save our worthless butts.

How's Your Home Budget Doing Minnesota?

The Minnesota state gas tax went up 2 cents per gallon today with another 3.5 cents per gallon on tap by October 1, 2008. This is on top of an average 8% increase in food prices [Read more] so far in this the year of our Lord 2008. Since all food must be transported to the store, we can safely count on even higher prices due to the gas tax increase. And let us not forget the food price increases driven by the government mandated use of ethanol (also known as the corn farmers cash cow program).

I wish I could say this was all one cruel April Fool's Day joke but that is not the case. These increases are real and are impacting every pocketbook and household budget in Minnesota. Regardless of race, creed, gender or financial status, each and every one of us are paying the ever increasing higher prices. Thanks to government taxes and government mandated programs we are all trying to figure out how to stretch our personal budgets to cover the added expenses of every item transported to the store or that is made using corn products.

So tell me Minnesota, how are you liking your DFL/socialist controlled legislature now? Are those of you who voted for big spending liberals still happy with your choice? Is your incoming increasing at the same pace as your expenses?

Wake up Minnesota. Isn't it time to tell the DFL/socialist party that enough is enough?

Personally I don't giving a flying you-know-what about Bush; raising my taxes any higher does bother me. When a senior member of the Democrat/socialist party promises that taxes will be raised if his party wins, I get worried, very worried.

Is it really all over, already?

Here it is March 11, 2008 and the mainstream, self-proclaimed pundits have decided that the liberals and socialists of the Democrat party will sweep to a major victory on November 4, 2008 [1]. My initial reaction was to thank the Lord that this farce was finally over but then it occurred to me: me and you and every other voter in America. Yup, this has all but been decided and we didn't have to do a damned thing except absorb a mass media pounding almost every moment since November 2004.

The more I thought about this, the more I realized just how ticked off this political wetdream material was making me. The speculation about possible results didn't bother me - that's just human nature. No, it was the tone and attitude of the story that got to me. They believe that we are sheep that can be herded onto the floor of killing house.

While it is true that the choice of Presidential candidates is pretty well narrowed down, that is one one small part of the process, a single race amongst hundreds, if not thousands of other races and issues to be decided Election Day 2008. Senate, House, state, local and board of education races are but part of what WE THE PEOPLE must decide come November 4, 2008. Not the media. Not the pollsters. Not the talking heads or media snippers.

WE THE PEOPLE.

Powerful words. Strong words. A single statement that has battle cry of this great nation since 1776. Words that have been defended, bathed in blood and washed in the tears of grieving loved ones. Words that have earned respect and honor.

Isn't it time that we put away our self-absorption and remember that the word WE is all inclusive. It means all of us. It means that each and every citizen has the duty and responsibility to be an active and well informed participant. It means that we can no longer sit on our collective dead rumps and take care of our business.

We do not have a right to great candidates or feel good issues but we do have the right to make our voices heard.

There are two measures that clearly demonstrate the true intent of the DFL and their turncoat IR allies. The new Transportation act which will confiscate $300 - $400 per family per year for pork barrel "transportation" projects is the first of these two issues. If you think for one minute that this money is going to roads and bridges, remove your head from your derriere and think again. This is going to fund a series of pork barrel "transportation" projects such as more choo-choo trains, covered bus stops and bike paths. This farce was made possible by the votes of six turncoat IR representatives.

The second measure yet another piece of gun control registration legislation. HF 3324 and SF 2989 are nothing more than an attempt to force LEGAL gun owners to register their weapons with the state. The wording makes it sound like the intent is to control 'military style assault weapons' but fails to define what is an assault weapon. But as is always the case with bills from liberal lawmakers, the devil is in the details.

Think about it folks - when is the last time you heard of a criminal or gang banger getting a purchase or carry permit?

Minnesota, you are getting what you asked for when you supported the liberal (DFL) cause with your votes or you lack of action to elect conservatives. Our willingness to sit back and allow liberals to screw us has directly led to this state of affairs.

It is time to fight back. A good start is to make sure the six IR turncoats and two non-voting IRs never win another election in the state of Minnesota. This of course means getting off our our butts and making noise now and voting in November.

Until you are willing to take a stand even if it is not convenient for you, then keep your whining to yourself.

Today is the first day of the 2008 session of the Minnesota House and Senate. Not wanting to waste a single moment, the majority DFL (Democrat Farmer Labor) party announced massive new programs and TAX INCREASES. One can only hope that the idiots who voted for these greedy polpigs enjoy their new tax increases. As for the rest of us, we are SOL. Our side of the political aisle, including the Rhino Gov. Pawlenty, do not have the guts to stand up to the liberals and socialists who make up the DFL.

State Dems immediately propose gas tax

For months DFL leaders have been pounding the airwaves telling us how horrible the Minnesota economy has become. Revenues from existing taxes are supposedly below projections. So what is the liberal answer to this? RAISE TAXES!.

In 2006 the voters of Minnesota were duped into voting for the 2006 Transportation Amendment to the state constitution. This was going to provide long term financing for all transportation needs. Two years later the socialist DFL polpigs are back at the trough.

Businesses continue to either leave Minnesota or significantly downsize their operations in our state and the DFL answer is to RAISE TAXES.

The population of western Wisconsin continues to grow as Minnesotans try to escape the huge tax burden imposed by the state and what does the DFL do : RAISE TAXES.

The fault does not lie just with the DFL and their supporters. There is ample blame to spread around to the gutless, worthless republicans, the turncoat governor and the idiots who can not be bothered to vote.

There is still time to fight back. Flood the republican legislators and Governor Pawlenty with phone calls, letters and emails demanding that they grow a spine and stand up for the citizens of this state. Demand that the state live within it's means just like you and me have to do. Demand accountability. Demand that they vote "NO" on any tax increases.

While we will certainly do whatever we can to fight the DFL TAX INCREASES, we have little faith that the taxpayers of Minnesota will actually do anything other than whine, cry and pay. And we have absolutely no faith that the republican members of government will do anything other than roll over and play dead as usual.

In a nutshell, Minnesota, we are screwed.

The GOP is headed for a disaster this fall because they have worked so very, very hard to chase away conservatives, evangelicals, and just about any one else who believes in the founding principles of this nation.

It is the Old Guard that has tried to convert the GOP into a clone of the Democrat party : liberal and standing for nothing other than self interest. It is the Old Guard who have chosen to ignore the desires of the rank and file and instead implement their own idiotic plans.

Let's look at a few points.

The majority of GOP rank and file, as well as the majority of American citizens and taxpayers, support strong action to stop illegal immigration. Instead the Old Guard has support amnesty and guest workers.

And now thanks to the manipulations of the GOP Old Guard, we are about to have John McCain forced upon us. The backroom deal makers and wheeler dealers have decided that dressing up a die hard liberal in conservative cloaks is what we - the rank and file - want and will support. No matter how you try to cover up the stink, a pile of excrement is still a pile of excrement.

No matter how you cut it, there is very little real difference between McCain, Clinton and Obama. All support big government. All support raping the taxpayer to pay for all of their costly, self service promises.

Conservatives and evangelicals are left with two options this November. The first is to set aside our personal principle, hold our noses and vote for McCain. The second, and more likely option, is to believe that there is no difference in the candidates and sit this one out and let the GOP crash and burn.

No matter how they try to spin and lie their way around the impending disaster, the Old Guard of the GOP have no one but themselves to blame.

For longer than I care to remember liberals have labeled conservatives and anyone else that doesn't agree with them as "racist". Now this liberal lie is being exposed for what it is: pure crap. And who do we have to thank for this? None other than her royal highness Hillery and her philandering husband Bill.

This link from the Washington Post is only the latest evidence of the truth that has always been there but never discussed: the liberal left is the real source of the institutional racism in this country. Their massive social programs and giveaways come not from the goodness of their heart but from the need to use minorities for political success and from their belief that no minority can succeed without the help of lily white liberals.

Thanks to Team Billary, eyes are finally being opened. The veiled attacks obscured within liberal GoodSpeak and the outright open attacks on Obama are many and mounting as Team Billary sees the nomination that they believe to be their birthright slip away. No other candidate on either side of the aisle is playing the so-called race card. No other candidate is trying to play both the gender and race card. No other candidate has rushed headlong into the slime.

Hopefully Americans of minority backgrounds are paying attention. Hopefully they are getting tired of being used by one liberal after another. Hopefully the lies about who is racist and who isn't are being heard.

It isn't conservatives who are trying to continue the plantation mentality.

Universal helath care is NOT a RIGHT

Sorry Hillary, Barack and all the other polpigs beating the drums but universal health care is not a right. It is not even a good idea. Especially if all it means is 'someone else pays'.

Would I like someone else to pay for my health care costs? Hell yes, who wouldn't? In fact, I would be happy to just be able to afford decent health insurance. But not if it means another bloated, government mangled program that serves no purpose other than to inflate costs and assure a hefty income to a select few.

Face the facts folks, all government programs are paid for by taxpayers, you and me. You may think you are getting a great deal
but someone is going to have to pay for it and that someone is the TAXPAYER. For the record, TAXPAYER means you and me.

Health care is expensive, far more than it needs to be. Is it because of greedy doctors scheming to rip you off so they can buy another BMW? Is it because of the evil insurance industry more interesting in profits than in providing service? Is it because of excessive government interference or ridiculous malpractice suits and settlements? The answer to all is 'to some degree, yes'. But the big reason costs are so high is because we are willing to pay the inflated costs. And why are we so willing to pay the price? Because we simply send the bill to someone else to write
the check.

Not only are we willing to pay these high costs but we do so for purely elective reasons. For instance:

1. Vanity surgery - lasix, liposuction et. al.

2. Junk medicine - pick any of the diseases du jour such as the latest magic cure for obesity

3. TV-esque heroic efforts - "House" is not real life folks

4. Emergency room visits for non-emergency issues (a simple cold is not an emergency)

Beyond these reasons, there is also our fear of aging and death, a fear brought about through a lack of true faith, a fear that power hungry polpigs are all to willing to exploit.

Can health care costs be brought down without massive government intervention? Without a doubt. The key rests with us folks, the common citizens who pay for everything. Start by accepting the fact that you are going to die someday and there is nothing modern medicine can do to change that fact.

Next, take personal responsibility for your own health. If you are fat, cut down on what you eat and exercise more. If your kid has the sniffles give them chicken soup and tuck them into a warm bed for a day or two. When you do actually need to go to the doctor, ask about the prices and alternatives.

Health care is a complex topic and I do not mean to minimize the importance of a good health care system. But folks, the solution to every complex problem starts with simple steps.

Last but not least - never believe a polpig who tells you that health care is a right and that they will give us good health care. They are a large part of why it is so expensive and can not be trusted to do anything that will actually benefit us.

Minnesota Owes America an Apology

On behalf of all residents of Minnesota, especially those that live in the 5th Congressional District, I want to apologize to America for having sent Keith Ellison to Congress. Not because he is a Muslim. Not because he is a radical liberal, actually socialist is more appropriate. Rather the apology is due because Ellison is proving to be either

1. just another polpig more interested in the power of the office than in the people

or

2. a total idiot

Ellison claims that requiring a picture id to vote in a federal elections should be banned. In fact, the rookie lawmaker has introduced legislation the would ban the photo id requirement. "While photo IDs seem harmless, they are in fact the modern day poll tax," Ellison, Socialist-Minn., said in a statement. [READ MORE].

It is just about impossible these days to do much of anything without a picture id. Try buying cigarettes or liquor without one. Try getting a job without one. Try cashing a check without one. Heck, you can't even collect welfare without some form of positive id, preferably a photo id. This does not seem to bother the muslim congressman. But requiring a photo id before partaking in the single most important duty of citizenship just isn't important enough I guess.

Voter fraud is a serious issue. Here in Minnesota, we have the Motor Voter law which allows you to register to vote with a drivers license, a pay stub with your name and address, a tax statement or by having someone with a valid drivers license vouch for you. In other words, if you are walking and breathing on election day you can vote and probably vote as often as you'd like just by visiting different polling places.

Requiring a picture id issued by a government agency does not seem like such a hardship for anyone. The costs are small and the amount of time required to get one is negligible. Granted, you have to provide some proof of citizenship such as a birth certificate but again, that is not a major hurdle for anyone assuming they were actually born in the US.

Eliminating the photo id requirement will open the polling places to the millions of illegal aliens presently in this country. 12 million or more illegals being able to vote is a huge voting block that any polpig would give their mothers soul to capture. While the will of legal voters would be overridden, that does not matter to polpigs such as Ellison. All that counts is getting re-elected and keeping their spot at the pig trough.

I prefer to think that Ellison is not an idiot. He has had success in his life prior to politics and from available information, appears to be just another guy so we reject the 'idiot' explanation. This leaves the most obvious explanation for this measure : Ellison is just another polpig looking for a way to buy more votes so that he can hold onto his office.

We're sorry and we will do our best to keep Ellison from winning a second term.

It is out opinion that Ellison is pushing for this so that he can buy more votes without regard as to whether the voters are legal or not.

Simple logic says that the youth involved with the violent youth gangs are most probably not the same youth that would be likely to make use of community programs.

Where are the 50 additional officers the Mayor promised you? He's had time to push for, and found the money to pay for, a hanging garden on top of city hall. Why not time and money to add the promised officers?

This quote is from a column in Time written by Michael Kinsley, founder of Slate and noted caring and sensitive liberal. The column was in response to outrage over the moveon.org ad attack General David Petraeus. You can read the whole piece of tripe HERE.

One has to wonder how such a supposed deep thinking, caring and sensitive person could take what were obviously emotional reactions and interpret them as if they were logical arguments? For most of us, the difference between logic and emotion are fairly obvious. Perhaps Mr. Kinsley has spent so much time wallowing in the pits of what passes for liberal logic that he can no longer tell the difference?

Abortion and the Left
Junior Gangbanger shots a pregnant woman for no reason other than she was driving a car that he wanted. He gets charged with one count of murder, right? Wrong. In most jurisdictions, he would be charged with TWO counts of murder - one for the woman and the other for the unborn fetus.

Jane Doe goes to Dr. Quickill to have her fetus aborted. Any way you cut it abortion results in the death of a living entity. Rather than being charged with murder, Dr. Quickill gets a nice check and Jane is off to pursue her life of self indulgence.

If Mr. Gangbanger is guilty of murder of the fetus, why isn't Jane Doe and Dr. Quickill similarly charged?

Furthermore, if a woman has the right to control her own body, then why is prostitution illegal? Using the logic of the pro abortion folks, she should be allowed to provide and charge for sexual services if she wants to. Where are the angry left voices protesting this obvious outrage?

Selling Out America

The Federal Government, President Bush and the do-nothing Congress continue their headlong rush to sell out America and create a new North American Union. The most recent attack on the America that we grew up loving and defending is to allow 100 Mexican truck companies unfettered access to deliver their loads to anywhere in the US [Read More].

We are told that this "will save American consumers hundreds of millions of dollars". This is, quite simply, not true. Savings will result but consumers will never see a penny of it. The savings will line the pockets of the American and Mexican business owners.

What we are not told is that this will cause economic damage to America citizens, especially those who are involved in the trucking industry. The loads that the Mexican companies will be handling are those that are currently handled by American truckers and American companies. Fewer loads equals lower revenues. Lower revenue leads to fewer jobs and more empty American trucks. Fewer jobs means more unemployment and that leads to financial harm to the drivers who already are operating on thin margins. For the record, this also means fewer taxes being paid.

One wonders how long the Teamsters, American trucking companies and independent drivers will tolerate this situation? However, the responsibility to fight this fight this does not rest only on the back of the Teamsters. We all can take part in this fight. For instance, truck stop operators can refuse to service Mexican trucks. We can refuse to buy goods from companies that accept loads hauled cross country by Mexican trucks. We can demand that our so-call political leaders quit playing their little polpig games and take immediate action to stop this travesty.

We the people have stood mostly quiet while hundreds of thousands of America jobs have been shipped offshore to India, China and parts elsewhere. We stand around with our heads located somewhere in our nether regions as hundreds of thousands of legal aliens willing to work for far less than industry standards are brought in to take away jobs from American workers. And while we spoke loudly and told the el Presidente and the do nothing Congress that we would not accept amnesty for the 20 million illegal aliens currently in the United States, we have done little to push for ridding our country of the illegal criminal aliens or properly patrol our borders.

The defeat of the amnesty plan stands as a shining example of what can happen when Americans stand up to the polpigs and BigMedia. WE CAN MAKE THINGS HAPPEN but only if we are willing to speak out.

It is high time that we once again remind el Presidente Bush and the do nothing Congress that they work for us, the American people and that their primary job is to protect the interests of the American people instead of playing polpig games and running for higher office.

Our forebears understood that to keep our liberty and freedom, it is sometimes necessary for the individual to make sacrifices for the greater common good, that if one of us loses our freedom, we will all suffer the same loss. Isn't it about time we learned the same lesson?

The Socialist State of Minnesota

We here in Minnesota thought we were electing a somewhat conservative Republican governor. The joke's on us.

In the finest tradition of socialist politicians, Gov. Pawlenty is now telling folks that he will support a nickel per gallon increase in the state gas tax supposedly to be used to rebuild the I35 bridge [READ MORE]. Since no tax ever goes away, one has to wonder what the additional gas tax will used to finance once the bridge is completed? What ever it may be, the odds are good that it will be anything BUT our roads and bridges.

Minnesota has a budget surplus of over 2 BILLION dollars. The Feds are going to pay for most of the rebuilding of the I35 bridge. We have money to build the comical light rail system that runs from downtown to the Mall of America and back again. We have money to build a new stadium for the Minnesota Twins. We have money (from transportation funds) to build even more choo-choos. When the Feds sent us transportation money, rather than spend it for bridges and roads, our esteemed "leaders" choose to spend it on a choo-choo train that has had almost no positive impact on traffic congestion.

Minnesota does not need a new gas tax nor do we need a special session of the tax and spend state legislature. However, our newly converted socialist governor has other ideas. Somehow the supposedly fiscally conservative governor seems bound and determined to add to our already heavy tax load.

I am sad to say that I have supported Gov. Pawlenty in the past. But that ain't gonna happen again.

It is not uncommon for media outlets to amend a story if there is a change in the facts that warrants correction. When they do so, they usually include a comment that the article has been modified from the original.

It might surprise yo to know that stories also get modified to change wording either as a result of pressure from political activists or to conform to political correctness.

The first difference is that the so-called victim in version 1 is referred to as a "Mexican immigrant" while version 3 now calls him a "Mexican man". While this seems minor, there is really a world of difference. A "Mexican man" could be tourist or businessman.

The second difference is also found in paragraph one of both snippets. In the first you will find the phrase "in a case that prompted condemnation and increased tensions with Mexico." In the second snippet, this phrase is now "in a case that drew criticism from Mexico".

The message here is very simple folks : do not trust BigMedia. Do not let BigMedia, or any other person or group ever think for you.

At the end of the day, the freedom to think and decide for ourselves is just about the only freedom that we really have.

Being Out of Doors Increases Risk of Injury

During the 2006 political campaign, every liberal Democrat (aka "progressives"), promised us that if we would only boot out the evil Republicans, they would restore honor and honesty and end congressional corruption. A prominent piece of their campaign to cleanup the corruption was to eliminate "earmarks". "Earmarks" are special funding allocations for the big donors back home. In less enlightened times we called this "pork barrel spending" or even "pay-offs". Unlike other legitimate spending allocations, "earmarks" are almost always tacked onto any bill regardless of what the bill is intended to fund. For instance, an "earmark" for a 400 million dollars for a quarter mile stretch of road in Podunk Falls might suddenly appear in a measure that is intended to provide education funding and is considered a virtual lock to be passed and signed into law.

Pelosi, Boxer, H. Dean, MoveOn, Murtha, Kennedy, Kerry, Edwards, Reid, Big Media and the rest of the cast and crew of the liberal Democrat party all promised to end this unconstitutional and corrupt process.

Well folks, they LIED and the proof is in the reading of the House defense appropriations bill. This measure, intended to provide funding for the defense of our country, is loaded with over 1700 "earmarks".

1700 "earmarks" in a defense appropriation bill is about as far from eliminating this corrupt practice as you can get. Inserting spending intended to payback local donors and buy votes for politicians into a measure that will provide the funds necessary to supply and protect our troops and country is the height of greed, arrogance and deceit. It is also one of the practices that the liberal Democrat (aka "progressive") leaders promised would be eliminated.

The good folks at Newsmax took the time to sort the 1700 "earmarks" by the politician who inserted them.

Since corruption knows no political boundaries, we have not included party designations. We have however, highlighted three of those who were most loud in their promises to save us from the evil of a corrupt Congress: Pelosi, Murtha and Obey.

We are all fond of referring to America as "Our Country" but how many of us are actually doing anything to protect "Our Country"? Judging by the current crop of liars and thieves that we elected to represent us, it looks as if most of us are sitting on the sidelines and watching the game.

Perhaps it is time for the burned out old hippies and wannabe hippies stub out their joints and listen to what these immigrants who only want to be U.S. citizens are really saying.

These are just a few of the comments and anti-white preachings of the true racists. Take the time to compare them to statements that come from some of the Muslim terrorists and you will find that their is a striking similarity.

These are also the comments of people determined to take over a portion of America and return it to Mexican control. I dare say that if these were the words of white folks, the Feds would have already taken decisive police and military action. However, for whatever reason our laughable President, Imperial Congress and federal government stand by and do nothing.

On July Fourth we will celebrate our freedom and liberty. Sometime in between the beer, brats, baseball, picnics and fireworks, spend a moment or two pondering over what you can do to protect the freedom that was earned for us by the blood and sweat of our fore bearers.

Amnesty Bill Defeated, So Now What?

The American people spoke loudly and won a hard fought victory over the Imperial Congress with the defeat of the Bush/Kennedy/Reid Amnesty Bill (aka S. 1369). Everyone who worked to defeat this very flawed bill deserves a pat on the back. At the same time, we need to remember this victory and remember that WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

However, the problem still remains: a flood of illegal criminal aliens are already here with more coming each and every day. This problem is not going to magically go away. We need to address the specifics of the problems and the best way to do is to start enforcing the multitude of laws that already exist.

As is the case with just about every facet of our life, there are already ample legal measures and laws on the books to take care of the problem without passing any more new laws. For instance, it was decided, by law, to build 850 miles of fence on the border with Mexico yet only 13 miles have been built to date. How long does it take to build a concrete barrier capable of blocking entry? Why isn't this a priority and well on the way towards completion if not actually finished by now?

Next on the list of problems to be fixed is the huge backlog of applications for legal immigration and citizenship. While some might suspect that the backlog was artificially created to try and force support for the Bush/Kennedy/Reid Amnesty Bill, the more reasonable explanation is simple government bungling. The fact is that our federal government has grown so huge that it is out of control and needs to be severely cutback and forced to operate efficiently. Streamlining and focusing on enforcement and processing of legal applications must become the primary mission of the ICE.

One factor that is not often mentioned is that approximately half of the illegals already in the country came here with a legal tourist, student or worker visa and then simply decided to stay once their visa expired. For whatever reasons, the federal government has not figured out yet that they have to track not only the entry but also the exit of legal visitors to determine who has overstayed their welcome. Rather then spending so much time harassing little old ladies at the airport, the federal government must start to collect this information. There are 12 locations in the U.S. that collect this information - the process must be spread to all exit points.

Next up is to remove the ability of cities to declare themselves sanctuary cities. No city is above the laws that the rest of the country follow. Local police must be given the authority to question the immigration status of individuals and to detain and hold illegals until such time as the ICE can send them back home. If this means temporary detention camps, then so be it. As the saying goes, if you do the crime, you better be willing to do the time.

Many of the illegals are criminals before they ever sneak across the border. Once here, they resume their life of crime or gang activity. It is imperative that when they are caught here, they be dealt with swiftly and decisively. Send the message that we are sick and tired of having illegal criminal aliens coming to America to pursue a life of crime.

Removing the 12 to 20 million illegal aliens that are already here is bound to be a tough job. A start to the process is to remove any and all benefits for those that are here illegally. No taxpayer funded services should be available to these individuals. For instance, some states are already providing taxpayer funded education assistance to illegals. This has got to stop. The incentive for staying here illegally must be removed.

Any child born on US soil is considered a legal citizen. It does not matter if the parents are legal residents or not. This must be changed so that only the children of citizens be granted automatic citizenship. To do any less is only to cheapen the value of being a citizen and to insult those who have fought to protect our citizenship. This is one of the few parts of the problem that will require a change in laws.

The list of things that can and must be done goes on far longer than we intend to cover here. Our intent is to point out that there are already answers for the problems and that another piece flawed, unenforceable law is not needed. The tools are there folks, all that is lacking is a government and Congress with he spine to enforce what is already on the books.

By all means, take some time to enjoy the victory America. Just don't forget how we gained this victory and that there is still work to be done. Now that we have the attention of Bush/Kennedy/Reid and the federal government, let's make sure they know that we demand that they do their jobs and fix the problems using the current law and that new law only be added in limited situations (such as changing the law on birthright citizenship).

We won but let's not spend too much time doing a victory dance in the end zone. There is still work to be done.
